WOW....Huge News.

Plaxico Burress is suspended 1 game.

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=nfl/news/news.aspx?id=4181575

So, essentially, fantasy owners are without him for 2 weeks because he is on a bye this week and suspended week #5.

Burress is now going to face criminal charges if he did not have a permit.  By the way, it is manadatory jail time in New York.  Could be ugly....

Is this a receiving corps or the marine corps?  All kinds of negative news rolling off "The REAL Feed" for the Giants' receivers involving guns:

Giants receiver Steve Smith robbed at gunpoint (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3739206&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines)
ESPN: NFL (02.12.2008 12:34)
New York Giants second-year receiver Steve Smith was robbed at gunpoint in the early hours of Nov. 25 after arriving home, according to Clifton, N.J., police.

Burress follows directions, arrives at Giants Stadium (http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80cfcb7a&template=with-video&confirm=true)
NFL.com (02.12.2008 12:22)
Plaxico Burress has arrived at Giants Stadium, oneday after the star receiver was charged with illegal gun possession.

Antonio Pierce is also finding himself in hot water because of his participation in the cover-up of this.  ...  And, then, there's this, "mundanity" at this point, to boot...

HAMSTRING INJURY FOR SHOT BURRESS (http://www.sportinglife.com/nfl/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=American_Football/08/12/02/GRIDIRON_USA-NY_Giants_Burress.html)
Sporting Life: NFL (02.12.2008 12:52)
Plaxico Burress has had his hamstring treated a day after he was arrested on illegal weapon charges.

Not a big surprise here...  From "The REAL Feed":

Jacobs tops list of Giants inactives against Vikes (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/nfl/wires/12/28/2020.ap.fbn.giants.vikings.inactives.0244/index.html)
SI.com: NFL (28.12.2008 12:58)

That said, I don't think Ward is a good play this week against Minny.

Should not the following nugget from "The REAL Feed" inform Coughlin's decision...??? [smiley=idontknow.gif]

Eagles-Giants forecast calls for gusty winds, chilly conditions (http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80dfee1f&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true)

Not that I totally agree with this claim, but this LOCAL source rollin' [smiley=rollin.gif] off "The REAL Feed" touts RB Ward as 2009's Michael Turner potentially in the waiting...

WARD WILL BE TOUGH FOR GIANTS TO KEEP (http://www.nypost.com/seven/01122009/sports/giants/ward_will_be_tough_for_giants_to_keep_149848.htm)
NY Post: Giants (12.01.2009 15:25)
Derrick Ward could be next year's Michael Turner. Turner toiled for years behind LaDainian Tomlinson on San Diego's depth chart before signing with the Falcons this offseason then finishing second in the NFL in rushing behind the Vikings Adrian...

Actually, with both Jacobs and Ward free-agents this offseason,... this is an interesting situation...  Stay tuned... [smiley=threed.gif]
