Hello all

I have an offer on the table for me to give Barber for Tomlinson.  There are two big factors that impact the deal.  

First, I have clinched a playoff spot and Tomlinson has a favorable matchup at the Chiefs in week 15.  Comparatively, Barber has the Giants in week 15 and the Ravens in 16.  

Second, we keep one player in my league.  Currently my three top candidates are Barber, Lynch and Addai.  I also have Wayne, A. Johnson and C. Johnson at receiver, but I prefer to keep a running back.  Tomlinson is getting up there in age and mileage.  I am not sure I would protect him next year.  So, if I traded for Tomlinson I would likely protect Lynch or Addai.  

So the deal is that I might try to sacrifice an ace keeper in Barber for good matchups for this year's fantasy playoffs.

Thoughts?

I don't necessarily think for next year with Felix Jones (and even Tashard Choice) around and a potential change in coaching regimes that Barber is your definite keeper over the rest.  Worry about next year next year.  If Tomlinson gives you a better chance to win a championship (which isn't that what this is all about?) and you've gotten yourself that close this year, cut the deal!  It's at least DEFINITELY worth the difference (you perceive) between Barber and, say, Addai or Lynch or even Wayne or A. Johnson.

I agree.  With the team you have and the keep potential on it, I would make the deal to win this year if you think Tomlinson gives you the better shot.  Plus, as Steg said, Felix Jones is going to take the ball away from Barber in some type of capacity.

Thanks fellas.  I was very much in your camp until Tomlinson had a mediocre week against the Chiefs in SD.  I am banking on Tomlinson to come up big in week 15 at KC.  

All in all, it is still probably a better match up than Barber going against the Giants in Dallas.  

As for week 16, Barber has a tough match up against the Ravens and Tomlinson is at Tampa Bay.

I still think that Addai and Tomlinson bring more value in weeks 15 and 16

Would you agree?
