Title: Lynch, Tomlinson and Foster Post by lumber2121 on Dec 19th, 2008, 1:34pm As I noted in my other post, I am in the championship game this week. I sat Addai this week so I need to pick between Lynch, Tomlinson and DeShaun Foster. Right now I would start Tomlinson and Lynch. Although a bit banged up (bruised shoulder), Lynch should do well against the Denver defense. Tomlinson has not been great recently, but he has been good. He could have another decent day against the Jaguars. The wild cards are Foster (if Gore is out) against the horrible St. Louis defense (in the dome) and the potential for Lynch to re-injure his shoulder. If Lynch is inactive for the game I would start Fred Jackson. He is a very good back and, again, the Broncos run defense stinks. If Lynch is active, should I start the fresh-legged Foster against one of the worst run defenses in the league or toll the dice with Lynch? The 49ers start at 1:00pm Sunday and the Bills are playing at 4:05pm. Tomlinson and the Chargers start at 1:00pm as well. Thoughts? |

Title: Re: Lynch, Tomlinson and Foster Post by StegRock on Dec 19th, 2008, 9:21pm My order... Lynch, Foster, Jackson, Tomlinson. I don't like Tomlinson in an ultimately meaningless game for San Diego but a very meaningful game for Tampa Bay... in Tampa Bay. But, ultimately, there is a lot of injury-report contingency here... Lynch, assuming he plays at at least 75%; Foster, assuming Gore doesn't play or is very limited, and Jackson, only if Lynch is playing at less than 75% or ideally not at all. There's A LOT of "who the hell knows" there. Good luck... |

Title: Re: Lynch, Tomlinson and Foster Post by lumber2121 on Dec 19th, 2008, 9:36pm The injuries are definitely the big question. While I agree with your take on Tomlinson, it is tough to sit him for Foster. I likely will have to make a decision close to game time on Sunday. |
