Title: Re: Raiders Team Report Post by Stegfucius on Sep 7th, 2019, 5:47pm Something for "the Red Zone", finally... 'Tis been AWHILE (and it probably will be again given life's present configuration, but I digress...). The prevailing, conventional wisdom on the effect of AB's release is that it is bad news for Carr. I do not disagree that Carr has lost a top-flight weapon. That is obvious. HOWEVER, they got in very little practice time together, so the chemistry was still going to take some time to develop. Moreover, Carr has probably dodged a bullet in the long run. AB could have been a thorn in Carr's side were things not going just as he wanted, say, if Tyrell Williams were in any remote fashion to play 2018 Pittsburgh's Smith-Schuster to Pittsburgh's 2018 AB. It also looked last year like AB lost a half-or-so step. As for Williams, despite the fairly tepid response from the pundits, there is no doubt he is the biggest beneficiary of AB's release. This is now his chance to make a splash! As such, he is a fantastic pickup in fantasy football. |
