Title: Never thought the of the Titans Post by DirkDiggler on Feb 2nd, 2003, 10:10pm • 02FEB03 Times Picayune : Titans coach Jeff Fisher might be interested in pursuing two free agent WRs -- Buffalo's Peerless Price and Arizona's David Boston. (QB) Steve McNair, the Titans' "one-man gang," desperately needs some downfield help. Interesting snipet. Never thought of Tennessee as a possible location for one of the top WR's. I love all the speculation. Price is going to be in high demand. |

Title: Re: Never thought the of the Titans Post by BarnabyWilde on Feb 3rd, 2003, 3:59pm I really don't think they'd sign both. They may bring both of them in, but they'd probably only sign one. Mason would be a nice #2 to either of them... |

I think the jury is still very out on Price's ability to be a "#1 go-to" guy. As such, if Tennessee were to sign Price, I am not sure whether he would become or Mason would remain the go-to guy. I think it would be more like a "1a-1b" type of situation. Boston, on the other hand, has the ability, read potential, to be an undisputed "#1" without doubt, and given his size and strengths, I think he would be a much better complement to Mason, who would then become the "#2" option, than Price. Price + Mason = :P Boston + Mason = [smiley=thumbsup.gif] |

I'm going to have to disagree with ya on this one Steg. I feel that Price has much more ability to Boston, tack in the knee injury to Boston, and you've got a NO contest. Price has blazing speed, and G-O-O-D hands. Boston has incredible strength, but hands of STONE. He outright set it himself, "I have bad hands." I don't have off memory right now the amount of dropped balls Boston had combined this and last year, but I think it's around 15-20. Also, who else in Arizona did they have to pass to? Yeah... Price split catches with Reed and Moulds both to VERY good WRs, and TE Jay Riemersema, and still, he proved himself. Peerless Price is my #1 FA. Boston isn't even my #2 FA.... |

I think of it the other way around. Boston was the only major threat and defenses could concentrate on shutting him down. Price, on the other hand, had several viable threats around him and defenses could not afford to focus solely on him. Both of these guys are great, but if I had to pick one, I'd go with Boston. |

Title: Re: Never thought the of the Titans Post by DirkDiggler on Feb 3rd, 2003, 9:45pm I would have to agree with most others that Boston is #1 while Price is #2. Price had so many other people to take the pressure off him. Price has had ONE solid year with a proven QB throwing to him. I am not convinced he could do it again some where else. BUT, then you factor in Bostons injury. I am leery of his ankle. Between his legal troubles, lack of judgement, and his nagging injuries, I think I would want a doctor, lawyer, and therapist to talk to him before I would sign him. |

Isn't this an argument AGAINST Price? Was Price the beneficiary of having single coverage most of the year, while Boston was facing double coverage almost every down? Price has yet to prove himself to be a #1, Boston already has. |

Title: Re: Never thought the of the Titans Post by CoachH on Feb 6th, 2003, 11:30am Price, in my mind, is a muchbetter receiver. Boston has too much baggage and seems injury prone, but who wouldn't be when you are the only major threat on an otherwise pathetic offense. It will be interesting to see who would come out as the #1 guy with Price and Mason on the same team. |
