Title: League Websites Post by PA Outlaws on Feb 17th, 2003, 12:34pm My fantasy offseason includes revamping our league website. I would like to view as many other league webistes as I can. Visit the SBFFL Home Page www.geocities.com/slatebeltfflto check out our league. Let me know what you think (thoughts, opinions, improvements, etc). I would like the links to yours as well. Thanks in advance.... |

Title: Re: League Websites Post by StegRock on Feb 18th, 2003, 5:50pm First of all, PA, it is hard for me to be objective here. I [smiley=smitten.gif] LOVE [smiley=smitten.gif] your site and that is a big reason why it is part of the FFLA (http://www.geocities.com/naffliu/Partner.html). The basic layout is extremely attractive (love that green grass and those yellow fonts [smiley=wiseguy.gif] ) and the site is set up in a very well-organized manner (right now, PA = [smiley=swollenhead.gif] ) ;) ! Here are the few pieces of advice I would offer: 1. Link to your "Home Page" in your left frame. I notice that you tend to link back to your "Home Page" on the pages that appear in the right frame. That was not immediately apparent while perusing your site because I did not scroll all the way to the bottom of every page. It also just does not follow the pattern you have set up. 2. It would look nicer if, on your "Home Page," you brought the DBFFL and QFL logos/links in line with the FFL's there in your second row of FFLA leagues. Right now, the DBFFL and QFL's hang lower that the FFL's. You could do this by shrinking the DBFFL and QFL's logos or by expanding the FFL's. 3. I love your link to "the Gridiron", but you may (also) want to link directly to the SBFFL board on "the Gridiron" (like what I do at the CBFL (http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cbfl/) site). It could create more traffic for your board. Also, you may want to have such links open a new window rather than take the user away from the SBFFL site. 4. I would like to see you get out from under "Geocities". I know it is a freebie and all, but those ads are beat and detract from the substance of your site. I looked and the domain names SBFFL.us and SBFFL.info are available. It would cost about 15 or so bucks to secure either of them and then it would only cost you a measly $50 a year to host the SBFFL site at Hostica.com where I am hosting Fantasyfootballer.com. In any event, you do a great job! [smiley=thumbsup.gif] By the way, for those interested in this FFLA thing, here is a link with information on our substantive network of fantasy football league sites: http://www.geocities.com/naffliu/Partner.html. |
