Title: Downloadable projection spreadsheet
Post by bgsgfan on Jun 19th, 2003, 2:03pm
I came across this article out there in cyberspace and wanted to point it out to those of you who like to do your own projections.

http://www.fantasyasylum.com/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=228

I participated in the author's leagues last year and would also like to plug them here right now.  Unlucky was the best commish I have ever had.  Draft ran extremely smooth, during the year both leagues I was in ran well and at the end of the year he spent a lot of effort tracking me down to pay my prize money!

That's funny... I found the same thing yesterday and started messing with it a bit.  I really like it so far.

I was just checking out the Yahoo site since KJ will be commishing a league there and found their stats page... very complete and an easy format to read...

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/stats/byposition?pos=QB

The only problem is that I can't just copy it and drop it into an Excel spreadsheet...?

OK... wasted some time at work and figured it out.  Since it is in HTML format, it won't go right into Excel.  I copied it and used Paste Special in MSWord (RTF formatting) and then converted the text to a table, copied again, and then it went into Excel.  *phew*

Just so everyone knows, the above appears to be a premium link.

I assume you mean the first link from FantasyAsylum... it was free a few days ago.  Maybe bgsg knows another way to get the spreadsheet...?  I've already tweaked mine beyond recognition or I'd email one to you.

I can email it if anyone wants it - it went premium after I posted it.

Oh, don't say that, bg!  I've got some bad news, [smiley=no.gif] [smiley=shootmyself.gif] but not for today... in due time, in due time!

If its a spreadsheet I helped out with - no biggie at all.  I can put that together from scratch probably easier than deciphering what I originally did.

As for the projection spreadsheet... I KNOW  I saved it somewhere - grrrrrrrrrr

Take your time, no rush plenty to do or all of us right now, however a projection spreadsheet would sure help with all this research....aw heck going away for a vacation to CT anyways, I will check my email when I return...Thanks
