Title: My Money League Post by Philly on Sep 2nd, 2003, 1:29pm Something weird happened with the other thread (Auto Draft Dilemma) when I was modifying my last post... so we'll try it here. Here's the result of the draft. 1.05 RB Clinton Portis 2.08 RB Jamal Lewis 3.05 QB Trent Green (too early, but everyone else went QB early) 4.08 WR Torry Holt 5.05 WR Chad Johnson 6.08 QB Tommy Maddox 7.05 TE Shannon Sharpe 8.08 Redskins D/ST (too early again, but defense was hoarded early by other owners) 9.05 RB Onterrio Smith 10.08 WR Troy Brown 11.05 RB Stacey Mack 12.08 Jaguars D/ST 13.05 PK Jeff Reed 14.08 WR Eddie Kennison 15.05 TE Freddie Jones At first glance, my team looks to be among the top 2 or 3 in the league. I think the other owners overvalued the QBs (Manning, Culpepper, McNabb, Warner, & Gannon taken in 1st round!) and the Defs (Bucs, Eagles, Dolphins, Steelers) taken in the first 5 rounds. Hell, I almost landed Travis Henry as my #2 RB in the second round and I would have been ecstatic with him as my 1.05 pick. ---------- Question... I had a trade offer already. Someone wants to relieve me of Onterrio Smith and is offering one of his WRs in return (he has Peerless Price, Keyshawn Johnson, Isaac Bruce, David Patten, and Tim Brown). I'd like to add a 5th WR (since we start 3), and can afford to lose a RB (with Portis/Lewis as starters and Mack as a backup)... but is that too low a price for a starting RB in the league?? I like Price (although a bit less without Vick), but I'm set at starter with Holt/Johnson/Brown... Any thoughts? [smiley=thinking.gif] |

Title: Re: My Money League Post by bgsgfan on Sep 2nd, 2003, 2:30pm Thats a good deal, IMO. Even though I am high on Onterrio Smith, his perceived value will probably drop until about week 4 or 5. I also agree with your reasoning. Watch for potential to get Onterrio back from that same guy after about 4 weeks. :) |

Title: Re: My Money League Post by Philly on Sep 2nd, 2003, 2:40pm Hmm... he rescinded his offer. He said he would still consider trading either Keyshawn Johnson or Tim Brown for Onterrio Smith, but that Price, Bruce, and Patten were off the market. I politely chuckled and decided that I can afford to have Onterrio ride pine for a bit. |

It's very nice that you would share this tidbit with us, but can you explain why you feel this way? And, since you're on top of things here, when exactly is Bennett coming back? ;) |
