KJ, all, sorry for missing the contest. With ALL the FF meat and potatoes on my plate right now, this thing just got lost in the shuffle. [smiley=shrug.gif] I do have a strong feeling about tonight's game, though, and I feel that here is the place to post it...

I'm not AT ALL buying into this "destined to be a low-scoring affair" mentality that most everybody seems to be in. I actually think the game tonight is going to be fairly high-scoring (of course, I thought similarly about the Redskins-Jets game, but it is hard predicting things when two bad teams are on the field... anything has a way of happening... I consider both the Bucs and Eagles to be upper-tier teams and, thus, more consistent). My prediction for tonight:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 27 over Philadelphia Eagles - 24

The Bucs are going to open the new stadium just like they closed the old one.

Pivotal according to me... It's not like I only picked all the EASY games, dude! As a matter of fact, it could be argued that besides the game tonight, I only picked the tough ones. The game I didn't pick that you probably all missed, and I probably would have as well, was the Bucs-Panthers game.

I certainly am not trying to discourage you from making your picks, but I would hate to see, down the road, people only making picks on one or two games each week because they felt they were the only pivotal games in their opinion - especially if we don't have a real concensus on the idea of pivotal. Certainly you understand the idea here, Steg. Everyone is following the same method except for one rogue prognosticator. There were no rules set out officially, but that shouldn't mean that it is a loose thread. I think the site benefits, overall, from everyone being on the same page.

Actually, maybe it would be better if it were MORE lax and then, perhaps, a greater number of people would feel more welcome to lay up a pick here and a pick there and less obliged to make a pick for EVERY game, which may be more than they want to spend time on, and, thus, we might have more members participating even though the game itself would be less "official", which it really isn't anyway. As it stands now, the deeper this "game" goes into the season, the less and less likely others will be to jump in. What would be the point? It just turns into another one of those exclusive things, uninviting to others, that the regulars here just "play with themselves". Outside of the serious "competitions" that we have going on here, the GBRFL2 and the CBFL, I would like to see some "lighter" events that are more inviting to the general populous. This could be one of them. On the other hand, one could point out that I do want the "Red Zone PRIMED Players for the Week" to follow a particular pattern,... and that's not even a "competition". But, in that case, there is a bit less work involved, especially if you just make a "STUDS" list and, moreover, the nature of that does necessitate a particular form... form following function. Whereas, this endeavor to me seems to be/should be more of a functional one. But, whatever... If you all only want people participating that are willing to make a pick on each and every game, that's cool. It will make this less inviting, though, including to me. Not that it matters here, but in my office pool we do all the games and you have to cover the spread. I hit 13 of 16 games only misisng the Rams which were a 3.5 favorite and they won by 3, the Titans who got crushed, and the Steelers who got spanked as well. I won $240.00 dollars for that great week!

OK, that's weird... I posted week 15 picks on Friday, and they're not there now...?

I specifically remember doing this because I went back and used the same heading I used in Week 8 (when I went 12-2) because I figured I needed some extra help to catch Walker-Boh this week.

I guess it really doesn't matter too much, since Walker_Boh's picks either disappeared (or never appeared) this week.
