Title: Fanball should be embarrassed.
Post by captainpurple on Oct 22nd, 2003, 10:50am
Just saw Fanball's free sample FF game breakdown for this week.  They did the MIN/NYG game.  It's gotta be the worst piece of game analysis I've read.  Did they even pull up any personnel files or injury lists?

Gripe #1
They list Kelly Campbell as the #3, and Nate Burleson the #4.  Uhh, guys?  If you had bothered to check, you'd see Bates has missed 4 weeks, and is Questionable for this week.  In addition, two weeks ago Tice announced he'd promoted Burleson to the #2.

Gripe #2
They forecast Moss will have a tough time vs. Will Peterson.  Ummm, I don't think so, since HES OUT FOR 6-8 weeks!   [smiley=frustrated.gif]

Maybe their analysis wasn't as bad as I'm claiming, but glaring mis-statements such as these make me view the whole article as bathroom drivel.

Anyway, hope no one is paying for that crap, and if you're thinking about it...BEWARE!

I have addressed similar issues like this in the past. I read all that shit, and toss out most basd on the other things i read...INJ lists and such. It just goes to show, some sites just script these things without real insight, while we know who the good sites are and just delete the ones that do dumb things like this.
The worst are FF Draft Mags. Many yrs ago i used the same mag for 3 yrs. In yr 3 i realized that the used the same words and stat predictions..verbatum.. as the year before on most players.
The net is great becasue you can get info from so many different places. Most are good, some are  [smiley=horse.gif].

Awesome!  That's the kind of viceral frustration I have with them too.  Just glad I don't pay them for their hairbrain, off the cuff, shoot from the hip projections.

Do have to admit I subscribe to the Newsbreakers though, which is a nice way of getting the news.  I just make sure to ignore the "Anal-y-cyste" section trailing each news story (labeled Our View).

"The REAL Feed (http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/newsstand.htm)" is a nice alternative/augmentation to those "News Breaks", though, I must admit, cp! [smiley=awwgee.gif] ;D

This is a site that I frequent. I like the cheat sheets. They seem to get them out earlier than anyone else. I checked out JYJ'S. Thats cool as well.

Well, sk, I like this page of theirs, especially "that forum" they indicate in their "Simply the Best of the Best" section:

http://www.profantasysports.com/FantasyResources.php.

They have quite a nice forum there, too, sk.  Maybe, you should check it on out! ;)

In all seriousness, though, it is a site that I like A LOT.  It has been on my "Great Eight FF Info Web Sites" list on the GBRFL and GBRFL2 home pages for quite a while.  To see what I mean, go to the following page and scroll down a bit or click "Information Sites":

http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/gbrfl/.

Anyway, good call on a good site, bro! 8-)

I agree that the great eight are nice sites. Ive been disappointed with KFFL since they changed the site this year tho. It seems not as convenient as well as cheap. They want money for just about everything.
