Title: 2004 Pass Targets

This was quite a project (the summary data is compiled by a program that reads the NFL boxscores), but I always found this data useful:

Very nice info.  Is this going to be available and updated each week of the regular season?

Yes, as long as NFL.com puts boxscores on their site, or I can find them somewhere else.

Thanks for the compliment Sting.  Like I said, it was a project, I think there are only one of two ways to count up the pass target data:

1) Manually scanning all the box scores every week.  Which is what I suspect the few other sites that have this data actually do.
or
2) Creating a process that reads in the data and accurately accounts for each event that represents a pass target or redzone target.

#2 is not easy of course, but I'm a pretty good statistical programmer (currently my day job).   I think you could also accomplish the same thing using a language like C++.

This is great information Jake. I am pleased with the production of Wayne, Gonzo, Burleson, Rod Smith,
and Coles should get a bump in 2005. I like my receiving corp even more,  after looking at the numbers. Thank you.
