Title: 32 team league needing owners! Post by Klund on Jul 12th, 2006, 7:29am Looking for players to join a Free 32 team fantasy football league. Currently we have 15+ teams. If your interested just leave your email here or if you don't want to post your email you can contact me at mklund@gmail.com for an invite, just include 2 or 3 divisions you would like in order of preference (in case its full) (NFC/AFC East, West, North, South). Can also say what team name you would like or wait til you login and change the team name/logo to your preference. Only looking for people who are serious about it and can stay active throughout the season please! Draft is TBA but will be LIVE online draft most likely 1 week after the league is full (mass emails to all owners to give them time to prepare and make time for the draft). Draft order will be RANDOMLY generated once the league is full. The league is setup like the NFL, 32 teams in 8 divisions (AFC/NFC East,West, North,South) and team names of whatever you want them to be. Top 12 teams from their divisions at the end of the season will advance to a 12 team playoff, teams with better records have a Bye week 1. This league will use individual defensive players. Rosters will look like this: 1 QB 2 RB 3 WR 1 TE 1 DT 1 DE 1 LB 1 CB 1 FS/SS 1 K 1 Team: Defense 1 Team: Special Teams 15 Players on the Bench 1 Player on Injured Reserve -------- League has many features, some of them are: Mock Drafts Custom scoring settings League message boards Standings, Breakdowns and Power Rankings League Records |

However if you want to join the NFC North still, there are 2 teams there who have not yet activated their teams. Post by StegRock on Jul 27th, 2006, 7:35pm Well, the NAFFLIU's down there is pretty much a ghost town, but (I've dealt with the guy for years and) they come by once or twice a year religiously to at least post about their playoffs and championship and they are a league that's been in existence for YEARS. Is the intention of this league really to be in existence for years to come? I mean... it's A LOT of work maintaining leagues (like the GBRFL, e.g.) for years. I ask because a ghost-town message board that still has utility in terms of years as it does for the NAFFLIU is worth having. But, if this league doesn't necessarily have a long-term vision,... well,... then... you can see where I am coming from. A short-term ghost town isn't worth it. [smiley=ghost.gif] ... Post by Klund on Jul 29th, 2006, 8:06pm It will be a one year only thing most likely, I have owned a keeper league for co-workers for the past few years and recieved this extra league for this year only as a bonus for owning the keeper for so long. So I decided to make it a free league and do something different with it, that is 32 teams with 30 man rosters, but really have no intention of keeping it past this year unless the majority of owners at the end of the year are willing to chip in enough each year to pay for the league and prize money. |

It is hosted through EA sports and this was my first experience with their setup. First of all the draft wouldn't start so tech. support had to reset it for an hour later then originally planned. We had 30 seconds per pick but if you didn't get it in within 20 seconds you were locked out of making the pick so there were a LOT of people missing picks due to the time limit. I did however get basically the team that I wanted with the 25th pick of the draft. oh well....we'll have to see how it all plays out and i'm gonna be on the wire t-t-t-TODAY, JR.!! If anyone were interested i could put up a post of the teams if you wanted to see how it went. The first round was insane.......#1 overall pick was rudi johnson for starters!!! |

Post by Takamine305 on Aug 7th, 2006, 3:56pm Ok, new issue here: Apparently teams were able to draft more then 1 team defense and more then one special teams unit during the draft. Since this is a 32 team league there are some team (mine for 1) that are without one of these positions and some without BOTH. I am trying to make a case that the teams that picked 2 or more of these should feel obligated to make a trade or drop the extra TD or ST units into FA for continuity of the league. Unlike all other positions it is not possible to pickup a backup TD or ST unit. Once the 32 are gone....they are gone!! I will agree that maybe my preparation wasn't the greatest leaving me short a ST unit. I also think, though, that if the league is to be legitimate then everyone should be able to field this position even if they wanted to wait until the last round of the draft to pick up there team defense. oh well, looks as if i'm losing my battle to get teams to give up there ST or TD accordingly (through trade or FA pool). anyone else have an opinion on this?? Am i completely wrong for saying that this league will be tainted if owners keep more then one TD or ST unit making it impossible for others to pick one up. It might even make rosters invalid completely and not allow ANY points to be accumulated for weeks without all positions filled in. UGH!!! |

I tried to look them over we got a few things ironed out before the draft, however, i didn't notice this glitch and it could ruin the league because either way it goes people are gonna be upset!! Maybe we should just reset the draft :-/ :-X ?.?.? :o It was screwed up all around for everyone though....i could care less about my picks and missing out on picks or anything like that. I just want to be able to have a chance at fielding a whole team. owners now are declaring they will refuse to trade their extra TD or ST unit because the bye fill in they get with them is better then the #3 WR or RB they can get in a trade!!! |

Today the final trade was accepted for a ST unit making the league finally "correct" , if you will. It took a battle between myself and several other owners. I was able to withstand a lobby for protests against my team which would make my roster invalid (would accumulate 0 points). i think i'll make like Sylvester Stallone and take this "over the top" league OVER THE TOP!!! |

Sitting at 2-0 and an all but guaranteed victory for week 3. The delay on my QB turned out to be quite the factor in the success of this team starting off the season. Picking up Pennington in middle rounds of a 32 team draft was just an out-right STEAL!!! I was going to post a link but it looks as if you can't even view the league without a username and password. shucks. |

I have a few byes and barring any major surprises should be considered the underdog by prolly 20 pts. Once the controversy in this league settled down it has been rather fun. I might put together my own 32 team league next year with a little better settings. here are my starters this week for the league. :( QB - C. Pennington RB - C. Taylor RB - M. Turner WR - M. Kaeding It's a lot of players to start every week I know. I have Chad Johnson and Nate Burleson on the Bye week leaving my WR core a little (or a lot) shaky this week. I also have M. Bell on the bench as a RB. I think Turner is getting a bit more production since it looks like T. Bell is getting all the carries in Denver these days. You think that's the right move?? |
