Title: GRIDIRON GUARANTEE - Week 3
Post by Philly on Sep 21st, 2006, 11:51pm
Gridiron Guarantee is a weekly feature where you get to show off your football knowledge [smiley=graduate.gif] and make a bold prediction concerning any game or player for the coming weekend.

The prediction can be game-related, fantasy-specific, or personal. [smiley=footballsmiley.gif]

Make a bold prediction. Don't just say "The Steelers will beat the Bengals." That's too easy. Predict something that will have everyone in awe when it actually happens. For example, "The Steelers BEAT the Bengals AND Joey Porter's pit bulls EAT the Bengals." Then come back here on Monday or Tuesday and give us all the "I told you so"s. If you're wrong, who will ever remember?[smiley=tonguin.gif]

QB Jon Kitna (DET) will throw two TD's to RB K. Jones - because the Packers' secondary sucks.  And Jones will top 100 yds. total.

The Rams and Cardinals combine for a minimum of 80 points... FANTASY BLISS!!! [smiley=lickinmychops.gif]

The Ravens, coming off wins of 27-0 and 28-6, record their second shutout of the season as Jamal Lewis rushes for more than 200 yards!

Jaguars finally break through at Indianapolis.  Jacksonville controls the ball and have more total yards offense than the Colts! [smiley=band.gif]

Antoin Randle El and Michael Robinson will each throw a TD pass this weekend.

Plummer throws 3 picks in 1st half.

Plummer gets benched in favor of Cutler in 2nd half.

Cutler leads the Broncos back through the air only to fall short in the final minutes.

Hey, it could happen!!

[offtopic]It's all good!  This thread serves various purposes from having fun to gleaning some thoughts.  So, PLEASE, don't get me wrong!  And, if you just want to have fun with it, please, by all means, do.  But, for the purposes "I" visit this thread, I just wanted to applaud Callie, Philly and the rickster for their "Gridiron Guarantees".  Theirs, in particular, are (actually) worth giving a thought to as I set my lineups for the week.[/offtopic]

Steg... I guess I didn't see this thread as one that people should be looking to for their fantasy/betting insights. As it has been all along, and fairly clearly indicated by my weekly examples in the first post of each one of these threads (feel free to go back and look through the old ones too), this thread was designed for people to have fun and really go out on a limb with their predictions. It's one of those deals where every now and then even the blind squirrel finds a nut. We're all blind squirrels in this case. As for the title... I'm sorry to say that there are absolutely no guarantees in football.

Reggie Bush will shine on Monday night. Look for 150+ all purpose yards and 2 TD's.

Well...neither threw a pass, however, each did score a TD.

I thought the thread for studs / sleepers would be the thread to go to for thoughts on setting your lineup.  I would never have considered putting in Cutler because i read my thread.  I figured it seemed more like a shot in the dark thread where if you by chance could get something like what I wrote right....well, it would be quite amazing.   I guess maybe I took the this thread in the wrong context.

I think there's only one person here who is using this thread for fantasy insights. I think most of the people here, including myself, see it more as a "shot in the dark" type of deal.  [smiley=annoyed.gif]

Let's do a Week 4 and shoot at more stuff!

Edit:  I took away the smiley, because I was afraid you would think I didn't really mean it.
