Title: 2007 Mock NFL Draft HUDDLE Commentary Thread Post by StegRock on Apr 22nd, 2007, 5:34am Please post any comments regarding the 2007 Mock NFL Draft Huddle in this thread. The picks thread is located here: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=56;action=display;num=1177234301. Also, I will maintain, as best as possible, a running list of the picks in this post... 2007 NFL Mock Draft HUDDLE Round 1 1. Oakland Raiders - Jamarcus Russell, QB, LSU 2. Detroit Lions - Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson 3. Cleveland Browns - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame 4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech 5. Arizona Cardinals - Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin 6. Washington Redskins - Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas 7. Minnesota Vikings - Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma 8. Atlanta Falcons - Laron Landry, S, LSU 9. Miami Dolphins - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan 10. Houston Texans - Levi Brown, OT, Penn State |

Title: Re: 2007 Mock NFL Draft HUDDLE Commentary Thread Post by BarnabyWilde on Apr 22nd, 2007, 11:49am I went with Adams at #2 simply because I think Detroit will either take him or trade down. I think with the FA signings the Lions have had this off season, they really could use a nice pass rushing DE instead of a OT like Joe Thomas. They can easily get a decent OT later in the draft. |

Title: Re: 2007 Mock NFL Draft HUDDLE Commentary Thread Post by captainpurple on Apr 24th, 2007, 11:08am I'm right there with you BW. I really don't see Cleveland picking Quinn at 3 if CJ is still on the board. I think TB will trade places with them and take CJ. If not TB, I wouldn't be suprised to see Minnesota make a play to take either Quinn or CJ, or Miami move up to take Quinn. But it would be a disaster to try to put trades in here, so I'll go with Quinn to Cleveland. |

Title: Re: 2007 Mock NFL Draft HUDDLE Commentary Thread Post by Philly on Apr 24th, 2007, 11:11pm Washington at #6 is a tough one. I fully expect them to try (desperately) to trade down, out of that position. They have the #6 overall and then nada until Round 5, so they need some more day one picks. But, since we're assuming they stand pat, they'll take the next best DE available since they're really in need of some pressure off the edge. I don't think, however, that Anderson is going to be an impact player right away (which is not good if you're taken this early). He's far too one-dimensional at this point. |

Title: Re: 2007 Mock NFL Draft HUDDLE Commentary Thread Post by captainpurple on Apr 25th, 2007, 3:55pm [smiley=bouncin.gif] Winter Park will be hoppin' if AP slides to #7! I really want the Vikings to come away with Quinn, Calvin or Adrian in this draft. Whatever they need to do, they have to get an offensive playmaker in Rd 1. At #8, Atlanta would be happy to get Landry at 8. He probably wouldn't last past Miami at #9, so I think they have to take him here and not trade down. Landry would really help bolster the Atl secondary. |

Title: Re: 2007 Mock NFL Draft HUDDLE Commentary Thread Post by BarnabyWilde on Apr 27th, 2007, 1:35am I think the 49ers get a key cog to their defensive retooling by grabbing versatile DE Adam Carriker. He can play in a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme, and would fit in great with Nolan's crew there in SF. |
