Here is another one of our fun participatory threads here "between the 20's". It is called "between the 20's Fantasy MVP's of the Week". Here, you are to list your key player(s) for the week, the one or ones that were key to your victory(ies). I really think we can have some fun with this! I eked out a victory in my money league as Matt Leinart did just enough to push me over the top, but my Week 1 MVP has to be Antonio Gates. I used to snicker at those who wasted a third round pick on a TE, but I felt like Antonio Gates was my best option in round 3 this year, so I grabbed him and it paid off in week 1.

In my $$$ league, the QFL:

Offensive MVP: Reggie Wayne, followed closely by Steve Smith.

Defensive MVP: Gabril Wilson, followed closely by Lance Briggs.

I second Philly's comment about Antonio Gates. I took him in the first round of the GBRFL draft, continuing my love affair with TEs, and he paid off huge. (Of course, I traded Plaxico to get a running back, whereas if I had kept him I would have had an extra 2 tds, but oh well).

Week 2 studs for me ...my man Brett, made me feel like it was 1997 or something!! Way to go Mr. Favre! Also...pretty solid day from Marion Barber.....hey Wade why don't you give 10 of the 15 carries that you give to Jones, to Barber? When he does, Barber's stats will look something like this...26 carries, 125 yards, 2 TD's, 4 catches, 35 yards. That would be STUDLY indeed!

Schaub has been a pleasant surprise. Plaxico has also done well for me.

But the best player on my team has been the Steelers Defense. They have been incredible.

I somehow pulled out one win in the GBRFL last week... WITHOUT ANY QUARTERBACKS... [smiley=ohshit.gif] I owe it to strong/solid performances from just about all the rest of my roster: RB's Cedric Benson, Warrick Dunn and Week 2 free-agent pick-up Derrick Ward; RC's Deion Branch and my other free-agent pick Kellen Winslow, and most of all DU Jacksonville Jaguars. Great job, fellas! I hopin' to perhaps get at least one QB for yous to work with here this week... [smiley=fingerscrossed.gif]
