Not as likely as some others. He's got a very accurate arm, but no arm strength and questionable decision-making. Had he come back for his senior year and gained some more experience, he'd have a better shot. One of the best rules of drafting a QB is stay away from the early-entry guys---they've failed more often than not in recent years.

After I posted this, I realized I misspoke. Davis doesn't have a weak arm ... he's renowned for his arm strength. It's his decision-making and football IQ that still need work.

After talking with someone who actually does scouting work for the Detroit Lions, I get the impression that if they want a QB, it would more likely be Mark Sanchez. However, there's some desire in the organization to grab a cornerstone OT with the #1 pick.

I think Sanchez is a 1-year wonder.  Thus, it would make perfect sense the Lions want him.
With that being said, I think an OL would be a solid pick and SAFER pick.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? [smiley=no.gif] I guess the whole AFC West has gone mad...  When you need help on D SOOOOO BAD and Brian Orakpo is on the board, why in God's name would you take a tailback here,... moreover, when the evident prevailing philosophy is that you can plug anybody in and have success and you have a laundry list of tailbacks, many of whom you've added this offseason?  I just don't get it.  At the very least, it's not good for team morale.  They had some decent ones to work with, namely the highly-touted Ryan Torrain (whose time, granted, was probably up with the regime change) and, then, brought in Buckhalter (a move I didn't like, mind you), who they allegedly "promised" "every chance" to be the starter.  Then, coach McDaniels brings in a guy of "his" from New England, Jordan, which probably had Buckhalter thinkin' WTF.  This is not even to mention their bringing in Arrington.  Now, they likely needlessly jump the gun and bring in Moreno to make for their, what, 10th tailback.  This is moronic.

Suffice it to say that I didn't mention this as a concern in my post above because I didn't think there was a snowball's [smiley=snowman.gif] chance in hell [smiley=evil.gif] they wouldN'T go defense.  I'm flabbergasted!  Coach McDaniels is setting bad precedent, getting off to a bad start, and creating a very short leash for himself in my mind! I never saw him play and didn't know about him at all until I saw the results of the CFL Combine last winter. I know he put up numbers that would have been amongst the best at the NFL Combine in Indy in February, but as far as being a legit prospect??? I don't really know. BC is a bit out of my range as far as scouting is concerned.

I did see some tape of Samuel Giguere (now with the Colts) last year before the season and thought he had a chance to stick in the NFL, and possibly become a sleeper prospect as far as fantasy was concerned. There was another Canadian RB prospect who tried to make it in the NFL a few years ago (his name escapes me) and he came in with more fanfare than Lee, and he couldn't hack it. I think it's going to be very hard to go from a Canadian University to the NFL. Not only is the level of competition lower than even D3 or NAIA, but the game itself is often quite different than what you'd see in the NCAA or NFL.

The success that San Diego Chargers running back Darren Sproles has had in the NFL is surprising to some, especially since he's just 5-foot-6. Ball State RB MiQuale Lewis is also 5-foot-6 and has a similar skill set to Sproles. Scout.com's Chris Steuber compares the two little big men inside.

I've only seen Ball State a couple times in the past two years (both of their bowl games). Lewis didn't play against Rutgers two years ago, and, from my recollection (I didn't tape the game), he was less than impressive against Tulsa this past year.

Sproles was a big-time back in college and he stayed healthy. Right now, I'd say Lewis is a poor-man's version who has to stay healthy his senior year to get legit consideration.
