Title: A Little About Me
Post by Cirrinone on Apr 16th, 2003, 4:10pm
Hey guys,

I just thought I'd take the time out to let you in on a little about me. I posted an ad for my league on another section of your forums and figured you'd be more interested if you knew a little more about me (actually I pretty much stole the words out of a mod's mouth who told me to do this haha). Well, my name is Jon Cirrinone. I'm located in Maine of the U.S. I grew up in Philly and my team is the Eagles to the heart but because of all the Pats fans in New England, I am a fan of them as well. I'm a die-hard fanatasy football FANATIC, and I look forward to frequent posts here and running my league beyond expectations. I'm a new member of the FFLA (as of I believe, last night haha) and I look forward to speaking with many of you. Glad to be aboard.

- Jon

Jon, WELCOME!  I am glad to see you part of the family here on "the Gridiron"!  BUT, you are jumpin' the gun a little bit there regarding the FFLA.  Please (re-)read those e-mails I sent you.  Your admittance is still, well, pending, and if you are approved (about which I have a good feeling), there are things you will need to do like pronto, like, e.g., get all of the other FFLA leagues' logos/links up on your site as we will do yours.  I'll be in touch by e-mail regarding all this.  Later!

The more Eagle's fans the better in my opinion.

More people to bash on after the Bucs dominate the Eagles again, on the Monday night game.  ;D

Welcome, Jon!

Oops sorry Steg.

And Keyshawn... no no no. You've got it ALL wrong.  ;D

Eagles are gonna embarrass the Bucs like they did both of the 2 years before last and send them packing-- for good. Defense won't be enough for DONOVAN and HOPEFULLY, Buckhalter will start this year and if that's the case, kiss the Conference Championship goodbye, it's all Philly.  ;)

Well, as one of the (many) Eagles fans here, I also want to extend a warm welcome.

Don't worry too much about the (lone) Bucs fan.  Reality will set in again for him in about 4 1/2 months.  Also, feel free to ignore the (lone) Giants fan.  Reality is still sitting on him.  :)

Yeah, I feel for the Giants though, because watching that game just made me think ONCE again about it: Terrell is my MOST hated player in the NFL. Bah, can't stand him-- Giants should have won that game-- had $180 bucks on it. Hah :(

I'll be honest with you... the Bucs don't scare me at all for the 2003 season.  The Giants scare the hell out of me, especially with the Eagles lack of improvement so far in the offseason.  (Just don't let BarnabyWilde read this...  I may not hear the end of it.)

As a die hard Eagles fan, the Eagles scare me!!  Their total lack of any improvement in the team, their being so close for the last two years sets them up for a hard fall.  And finally, I am scared to death of their schedule!  It is TOUGH.  (rated hardest in the league based on winning %).  The only good news is that the rest of the NFC East teams don't exactly have a cake walk with their schedule either.  Thank God the NFL made schedules with equality for divisional teams.

I see the Eagles barely winning the division.  But I don;t see any wild card teams coming out of the East.  So if the Eagles don't win it, i think they are screwed.

Haha my fine feathered friend. The Giants should scare you. Already have they made major improvements in the special teams area, now they will help themselves where they need it mose in the draft, and that is defensive line.  Your short two year reign atop the division will come to a devastating end this season!

I just hope that the Giants developed a lot of confidence in Kerry Collins based on his performance last year.  Maybe this year they'll ask him to win games instead of not losing them.  I don't think he can stand up to that kind of pressure.

And maybe he won't bury his head up his ass when they get inside the 20 either. Those are both big maybes my friend.  ;)

He'd be a great fantasy QB if he can play like last year and throw maybe another 8-12 touchdowns. This is going to be a big year for him; Either he proves he can be the QB everyone thought he was coming out of Penn St., or he can be the ex-drunk wash up he may have become. We shall see...

Yeah the Eagles have definately not done anything but lose this offseason. However, I think Donovan remains strong and HOPEFULLY Buckhalter bounces back and has a nice season-- I'm hoping for 1,300 yards. Staley can work if they feed him the ball enough, but Reid's made it clear Buckhalter is pretty much his man. I'm not sure, the Eagles need a back to reach at least 1,300 yards though and either a nice addition WR in the draft or Thrash + Pinkston to step up. Their D will remain good I think (or hope at least), as much as you'd like to disagree. Barber was a HUGE loss in my opinion, because I think he was one of the best up-and-coming LB's in the game. Hugh Douglas is a significant loss, but he's replaceable on the field- off the field is where he provided the best leadership. Their DB's will remain the best unit in the NFL.

Not sure, just my opinion. The Giants WILL provide a nice run in the division but I think Philly can pull it off. The Redskins new additions will just not be able to mend together and they'll look like 2000 (I BELIEVE that's the year-- not positive though) all over again, where they added HUGE contracts to their payroll. The Cowboys will improve greatly under Parcells but I say only 8-8.

My hope is that the Eagles and Pats both make it to the big game (although I wouldn't know who to root for haha). Eagles were one game away 2 years ago when the Pats won it.

Jon
--- was so mad when they let Chad Lewis run it on the last play *grrr*

Welcome Jon! Good to have another Eagles fan on board! Can't wait for the Draft next weekend! I liked what I saw at your website! Seems like you are very dedicated and enthusiastic about FF. Glad to know more people exist like me! [smiley=footballsmiley.gif]

Yessir, dedicated and enthusiastic would be two fitting words. However, I think we can safely say that about every one of us that visits this site during the offseason, no? Anyone who cares enough for their team to check out the scoop daily (or multiple times per day, as I can say... SADLY, I'm an addict, get me help haha) is dedicated and enthusiastic. But wow, I've gotten a LOT of Eagle fan response. I like it. Here's the place to go for post-draft and post-game talk, for sure.  ;D Would just like to say thanks to all that welcomed me, was nice of you to take the time out of your day for it. I think we'll get along great, very nice community is around these parts.
