Title: Raider Rumors for 2004
Post by Callie on Dec 14th, 2003, 11:04am
Here's a quote from the forum The Dark Side.  More when I hear it.

Said he just talked to the Raiders! Here is what he said.

Denny Green deal is as good as done. He is the next coach of the raiders as soon as the season is over.

He will bring in a complete new staff, he will not raid Minn but will get staff from the college ranks.

The Raiders will draft an Dlineman or a OT in the draft. Thought Gallery was the best tackle since Pace. Thinks that is a great choice.

Callahan will go to Tampa bay and coach the Oline. Many Oakland assistents on the O side of the ball will be employed in Tampa.

The starting QB for the Raiders next season is Rich Gannon despite the issues he had with Green. He sees Rice and Brown both not coming back.

Here's an interesting related tidbit on Green from "The REAL Feed":

NFL notebook: Dennis Green might not fit in Atlanta
StarTribune: Sports (14.12.2003 10:08)
If former Vikings coach Dennis Green wants to coach Michael Vick in Atlanta next season, he will have to do so without the kind of front office power he refused to yield before being fired by Red McCombs two years ago.

The Raider Nation guy who sent the info is not exactly pleased with the news.

Meanwhile, Reeves is in the bushes.  A 9er I know is hoping bigtime to see Dan in his fold.

Bottom line....I'll bet a lot of head coaching jobs are interesting news before next September. :-*
