Anybody know if that Sirius agreement will be for games in your region, or you'll be able to hear all NFL games?

KJ, I think the following quote from the article mentioned above answers your question:

"'For the first time ever, football fans will have the opportunity to hear radio play-by-play of their favorite NFL team -- called by their favorite local announcers -- no matter where they are in North America.'"

A true blessing for a truckin' football fan. As I found out last season, the Neckcar fans out number the  football fans in this line of work by a considerable margin. If I was lucky enough to be at a truckstop during game time, best hope there was no racin' going on at the time.

Not to mention the acknowledgment from a "competitor" by headlining this report.

It would be so much better if I actually got the NFL Network.  I ask my cable provider every other month, they say they are 'looking into it.'

Thats part of the reason I have to switch to DirectTV.  Sunday ticket is the other part.  My cable provider sucks, and that completes the trifecta.

But first I need a real job.

American football is SO VERY Americana, despite baseball's being our "national pastime".  It's a very "involved" game, I would say, furthermore, in a distinctively American way, and not cheap to do right, mind you.  I don't think, vis-a-vis basketball, baseball and soccer, it will ever be a great candidate for a "World League" sport.  I think it will always have trouble vying for hearts and minds the world over.  At least, it's going to have a hard time finding an audience in a 1) culturally, politically, socially, etc., isolated country like China, 2) whose values are derived from a yin-yang tradition that does not put much stock in a "might is right" mindset, which is quite a bit at the heart of American football, as it was for our ancient Greek predecessors and their gladiators.
