Title: Why Big Fierce WRs Are No Longer Rare Post by Callie on Apr 19th, 2004, 7:54pm Years ago I read a book with a title something like "Why Big Fierce Animals Are Rare." It was a popular science book with an evolutionary and ecological niche bent. Football is DEFINATELY all of that! Maybe this is Terrell Owens' true legacy...or something. But it's a good read. Keep reading. http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2004/04/18/SPGQM673HB1.DTL (Ira Miller shows up on SFGate.com on the Gridiron) |

Title: Re: Why Big Fierce WRs Are No Longer Rare Post by Philly on Apr 19th, 2004, 10:25pm From the story: Quote:
I'm not familiar with the author, but apparently the author is not familiar with the draft. Anquan Boldin should have been taken in the first round, but did not get selected until the second round. Otherwise an interesting read. The comparison (not by the author, but by Marty Schottenheimer) of this year's QB class to the class of '83 seemed a bit of a stretch. But this could certainly be the best WR class the draft has ever seen. |

This is the part I found most interesting. Should be an interesting rest-of-the-week. Wonder what's happening behind closed doors..... |
