Title: I'll be away from my desk Post by steelkings on Jun 30th, 2006, 7:00am I thought I might start a thread for people to notify the gridiron faithful of absents due to vacation, desolation, isolation or whatever. An example would be: I'll be gone to Washington D.C to do some scuba diving in the Smithsonian parking lot this weekend and will be away from my computer. |

Yesterday I tracked down an owner in a league we're drafting now because I knew she hadn't been around and the draft order had changed due to hosting site problems. Turned out she was on vacation and didn't know she was up and out of time (long clock, people all over the world). She had the first overall pick, and I had the second. She got the guy I wanted because I made it happen, but it turned out fair and square. No fun to win on a juke. I'll be away in early September, but it probably won't mean anything except less team news and reports. BTW, MC - you are one hell of a man. |

Then hit Osceola, IN (a stone's throw from Mishawaka) where my relatives live. I have a lot of family that was based in South Bend, Mishawaka, Osceola, and the surrounding areas. Had a great time there for three days. Went to the Pro Football HoF yesterday on the drive home. I loved it and could've spent a lot more time there than I did. |

I have a(n unfinished) paper presentation this afternoon (unfinished (but I'll manage) primarily due to the fact that our Japanese instructor decided to break records for assigning homework during our last week of classroom instruction,... [smiley=flipoffangrily.gif] bitch). I have slept an average of about four hours a night for as long as I can remember at this point. While going to this conference is going to be wonderful, I am sure, I kind of forgot how BRUTAL of a time of year this is for graduate students (of "rigorous" disciplines, at least). In any event, after "enduring" Japanese class here midday and doing a couple hours of last-minute work on the presentation, I roll to the class for which I have to make the presentation. It ends at 6:00. Shuttle's here at 8:00. We're in the air at 11:20... in Newark at 4:30-ish on Thursday... in Pittsburgh at around midnight-ish. Conference commences at 8:00 the next morning; closes that night at about 9:00-ish. :P (Holy hell!) Next day, start back up at 8:30; go 'til 5:30. Get IMMEDIATELY in car and head to Jersey shore, where I hope to arrive at mom's by 1 o'clock-ish. [smiley=yawn.gif] I'm just painting a picture, guys. My "status" for the games this week REALLY is OUT!!! ;) ...
