Can someone else here please either click on the "Owner Information" option and enter the password I gave you and see if it works for you OR at least report if you already have successfully done so so I know it is not on my end, which I am pretty sure it isn't, but you never know?  Thank you!

Also, that is the same password and system we use on the GBRFL site.  So, Philly, you could try it there.  If you incur the same problem there, then it's definitely something on your end because that page I KNOW works.  Ultimately, though, I am fairly certain it is not on the back end, so to speak.

Thanks, BW!

I think we got this hammered out, actually.  Remember you do NOT use your "personal" password to access the "Owner Information" page; you use that "common" password I gave you all.

Philly:

Password is case sensitive.  I had to do it 3 times (d'oh!), but on the 3rd try I did it exactly as it is in the email and it worked.

I understood the case sensitive part... I was using my lineup password instead of the one I should have been using...

Fellas,

The web site has finally been updated for Week 1!  Whew!

A couple VERY IMPORTANT notes:  1) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL OF YOUR SIFTING THROUGH YOUR GAMES WITH A FINE-TOOTH COMB AS WITH THE NEW, MORE AUTOMATED SET-UP I DID FIND TWO MISTAKES IN JUST ONE OF MY GAMES (though I found little else); 2) the lineup submission pages will be turned over sometime late tonight.

Over and Out,

Fellas,

Prompted by a (reasonably doable) suggestion made by our esteemed GBRFLer Markie Hahn, I made a small upgrade to the lineup submission forms.  You will now see a link at the top of the form for your "Current Roster".  It opens new window.  This way you can view your whole roster as you input your weekly lineups.  I hope this small upgrade helps!

Dude, you read my mind! Earlier today, when I submitted my lineup, I was thinking to myself, "You know, I wish I could see my roster from this screen..." Instead, I had to click File, New, Window (wait a few painful seconds for the new window to open), click Favorites, scroll down to "the Gridiron" (wait for it to load), scroll down to the GBRFL2 link, click on that (wait for it to load) click on Rosters (wait for that to load) and when I finished with all that, I had to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see my roster. Whew! Now depending on how well I perform these tasks, it can take anywhere from 15-20 seconds... now that doesn't seem like a lot of time, but over the coarse of a season, that adds up to about five minutes (and that's if I only set my lineup once a week!) What will you do with your extra 5 minutes this season?

Thanks for the nice upgrade Steg!

Guys, you all's "Rosters" and "Transactions" pages for '04 at the GBRFL2 web site are up and all according updates have been made.  All offseason trades have been accounted for (as far as I can tell) and protection spots are indicated on the "Rosters" page.  Enjoy!

Steg once again you have exceeded my expectations!
I was just looking at the rosters today and I thought to myself "I wonder when the rosters will be updated?"  I loged on tonight and BINGO! you did it!! Awesome!

P.S. Is the draft order the reverse of how we finished with a drawing from the 6th place to 10 th place teams to determine 1 through 5? Any idea when that will be finalized?  Since I finished 6th I will get one of the top 5 picks (hum??? Manning, Fitzgerald, Williams, Jones, Jackson, Rivers....I can't wait)

Yes, you are right on with regards to how the lottery works, PT.  As for when the lottery is done, it can be done anytime you guys want.  But, if you want to follow GBRFL tradition, it would be conducted the day of the Draft right before the Draft. It's more "fun" (read, evil)  that way. ...

I can appreciate the evil part of it , but I am also torn   with thinking it would be nice to know the order now because it would faciliate trading. I see merits in both ways.

Does anyone have any strong opinions either way?

Again, this is TOTALLY up to you guys!  Just let me know when you decide.  Do remember, though, just as a point that merits significant consideration, that not knowing the order is the way we do it and like pretty much everything else with the league set-up (as you all now are better aware after having played in it for a year), it makes for a good time.

I also think it would be beneficial to know as soon as possible.  I don't have a pick in the top 5 this year, however, if I were in that position I would want to explore trade opportunities that would help me better my team.  Just my opinion!

Indemnification clause, THIS IS UP TO YOU ALL IN THE END.  It is just that I know what the "conventional"/"usual" thinking is and what the according trend obviously is going to be.  As such, I feel like I am obliged to play devil's advocate for another, albeit unfamiliar, tried and true way.

None of what you say in your post, Ray, is precluded by not knowing the order of the lottery picks.  Lottery picks move like water in trades in the mother league.  It's just a different spin.  It requires a little more rolling of the dice!  Actually, it can even facilitate MORE trading as, e.g., if you REALLY want the #1 pick, you may want to acquire a few lottery picks.  Hmmmm...

Just the other side of the two-sided coin, guys.  Again, you call a vote amongst yourselves and make the call.  I'll then follow the results.  I'm just trying to help keep the discussion comprehensive and informed.

Actually, NOT knowing the order helps facilitate more trades.  5 guys have the shot for number one, so you are more  likely to trade with them.

In my short time in the GBRFL , the worst team has NOT gotten the first pick.  So knowing this, I am willing to deal with the number 1,2, and 3 guys in an effort to get the  top pick.

It's almost as if he read my post right above.

Anyway, actually, if he didn't, it just gives our point that much more force (than if he did).

Again, the decision is yours, and you can always do it differently next year.  It would be foolish, though, to not at least consider highly the words of those in the know.  "Opinions" are only as good as they are informed and thought through.

Not knowing ahead of time sounds like a good idea to me... Since the bottom 5 teams all have an equal chance at the #1 pick, each one of those picks could be considered the #1 pick overall and will hold more value in a trade then a predetermined slot (except of course the #1). This could go a long way into "leveling the playing field" and achieving parity in our league as the more powerful teams will have to give a little more to get their shot at this year's potential franchise players and only one of them will "get what they paid for" . The possibilities are endless and I think it would be a lot of fun. If we don't like it, we can always go back to a more traditional style next year. Either way, I'll be fine with the league's decision.

Since I have one of those lottery picks, I, too, am VERY interested to know which pick it is right now.

However, I understand that there are others who have played in this league for much longer than those of us in the deuce league, so I'll defer to their judgment for now.

With that being said, anyone who wants a shot at Manning, Fitzgerald, Roethlisberger, Williams, Winslow, etc., please feel free to send me an offer as my first round pick is available.  I will consider starters or solid backups + draft picks.

I do agree with what you're saying Steg, however, I won't "pay" as much for a draft spot that is unknown vs.  knowing that I am trading for a #1... especially if there is a clear #1 that I'm after.  Even if I try to trade for two or three of the lottery picks, I still may end up not getting the #1 (or #2 for that matter).  If I don't care about the specific pick and all I care about is a top five pick (because I would take any of the top 5 players available) then knowing the specific pick wouldn't matter... regardless of whether we knew them ahead of time or not.

Just wanted to clarify my angle on this!  Thanks to everyone for sharing their views on this!  Great food for thought!

Just an important point of clarification that I want to make sure you guys know as you go about deciding this...  Do remember that it is a weighted lottery.  The team that came in 6th gets 1 "ticket" in the hat; 7th, 2; 8th, 3; 9th, 4, and 10th, 5.  And, actually, Steve's recollection above is a little off.  Truth is whoever had the 10th Place guy's (5) "tickets" has gotten the first pick all but one year, last year.

Put me down as one who would like to know for sure where my pick is sooner rather than later.  Since I came in 6th I will most likely end up the 5th pick.

It will be almost impossible to trade that pick because no one will give much value to the 5th pick.  Now if I get lucky and get #1, 2 or 3 then there is value.

I guess if we are going to give unlimited time between draft picks it is no big deal because if you want to trade your pick you can wait until you hear back from all those who are interested and then decide to trade it or keep it.  All it really does is push the trading back into the draft rather than prior to the draft.

You can't plan to leave "unlimited time" between picks.  As was the case for the origination draft last year, there has to be some time limit, especially at that point in the year, mid to late Augustish I would guess.  Injuries during the span of your draft could really mess things up.  Just clarifying things and helping you stay focused and on track!
