Hey, where's the love dude?? Isn't it enough that YOU beat me.

LIke i said, I feel my team getting stronger now. The huge tide of injuries seems to be ebbing and the Brady Bunch (i guess now it's the Henne Bunch) is looking better than ever and with enough depth to make it through the bye weeks unscathed.

The plan is coming together my friends. The plan is coming together.

A quick poll of the guys here (besides Joe because I know what his answer is), I would like to take...  All things equal, at the moment, who would you rather have on your team/who do you think has better trade value,... RC Ted Ginn or RB Jerome Harrison,... or is it just a wash???  All eight of your responses would be much appreciated... by me...

I'd rather have Harrison on my team, because of the importance of running backs in this league (receivers and tight ends are a dime a dozen) and because of the distinct possibility that Jamal Lewis gets injured (or perhaps benched).  But I'm not so sure Harrison has better trade value than Ginn.  I know that sounds contradictory to what I just said about preferring to have Harrison on my team, but given the fact that neither of these guys is doing much I would give them both such a low trade value that distinguishing them would be difficult.

I will take Ginn because Henne is going to light it up this week. (I hope).

Okay,... that is one objective answer leaning toward Harrison or a wash and one subjective answer for Ginn.  Ultimately, I am curious to glean from more objective "all things equal" responses than "I have Henne so I hope Ginn lights it up," which really doesn't serve to answer the question I'm asking at all.  Others...???

I pick the opposite of what Joe thinks.

Actually, I think both barely deserve anyone's roster space, but I will sit on the fence and call it a wash.  They have pretty equal value.

I would probably be more likely to put Harrison in a lineup right now because he can have a good game from time to time and I dont think Ginn is doing anything (but I don't really know the stats).  However, I have always thought Ginn has pretty good upside and in our keeper league, has a brighter future and more of a chance to be kept.

Just to get this done before kickoff today, I'll take it to be the case that the poll is as follows and the ratios are representative if others, who are still welcome to, chimed in:

Votes for Harrison/a wash - 2
Votes for Harrison - 1
Votes for Ginn - (a very subjective) 1

For my purposes, it's 3 to 0...

The point here is the psychological warfare, a la "car sales", that is the only way Joe knows how to go about making trades.  He makes me an offer the other day, the meat of which is Brandon Jacobs for Cedric Benson.  Anybody whose fantasy-football compass is worth a darn knows that at present there is a fairly great disparity between the two in favor of Benson.  So, one with a half a brain and a little scruples would then think that with the rest of the deal at least a reasonable attempt at making up that disparity would be made.  How does that work with Joe?  He offers me Ted Ginn, whom he talks up to the hilt, or Pierre Garcon for Jerome Harrison, whom he talks down to the point of the guy's being a throw-in barely worthy of a roster spot on his team.  My point is that, Parsonian "car sales pitch" aside, at the very least both Ginn (or Garcon) and Harrison are a couple low-end shots-in-the-dark and it's a wash and the disparity hasn't even been close to being overcome, at worst HE WINS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DEAL!  Are you friggin' kidding me?  On the side of the deal he is supposed to be making up the difference to you, HE (karma aside, see below) STILL CAPITALIZES!  But, if you actually have a momentary lapse of judgment, which is precisely what Joe is waiting to pounce on with his incessant bad offers, and buy into his "car sales pitch", during which you have to painstakingly endure this psychological warfare on your players while listening to him overinflate the value of his own, you will walk away with a bad taste in your mouth and a salesman thinking he's done you a favor and in later dealings wondering why you're sour, just like when you depart most dealerships, except here that bad taste in your mouth after the fact is much more of a certainty.  All I can do is thank "God" for the law of "karma", out of which Joe, who I am sure is at the Lawd's house this morning praising the Lawd and learning the "sales pitch", has little hope of ever extricating himself.

Far enough Steg. IYO.

I still say it is better than the deal you offered me:

Benson, and Witten for

Boldin, Jacobs and Choice.
How does this make fucking sense for anyone but you??? My team is still in rebuilding mode...thus I need all the young RBs that I can get.
You said your piece and I have said mine. I guess my counter offer to you set off a nerve in order for you...I just wanted to serve tit for tat. I stared the talks by saying that I was interested in Benson with a deal that would include Jacobs. I did not make an offere because you and I don't agree on player values.     As referenced in previous discussions.
I agree that RBs have more value than WRs, that has always been a given. I feel like i do, and you feel like you do. We both are correct in our opinion for our teams.

Had a known that a trade offer would warrant a full league discussion and vote I would not have made you a counter offer, regardless of how rediculous in some peoples minds.
Next time Feder offers me Mcnabb for Mendenhall and my 2 first rounders next year I will put it up for a vote to the league, just to make a point.
Goos luck the rest of the way. BTW STEG You need another QB...YEAT AGAIN!!!

I digress....Ginn does blow. I think he worked out in the off-season with T. O. and Braylon Edwards and went a the "NFL DROPSIES" camp. He is clearly the worst WR on the Dolphins roster...hell probably even in the AFC!

You are correct yet again Steg. Every player that I draft, or try to trade SUCK!!!! Give them enough time and they will end up on the waiver wire. I bow to your greatness and fantasy wisdom old wise one! From now on I will listen to your words of wisdom, and only yours. I apologize for not listening to you about this. SO please call me tonight and make me an offer...if I have any losers on my team that you feel worthy of a roster spot on your team. I obey your command and believe what you say the values are about my players. So again, if i by chance have any worthless guys that you may be interested in please feel free to use my team as a scout team for ya.
I think next year I will just sit next to you at the draft so that I can cheat from you papers.
Give me 2 weeks, by then Sidney Rice, Choice, N. E. DEF, Ginn, LT2, Mendenhall and Donald Brown will be on the waiver wire for you guys.

Lendale White and Ginn will be cut next week, so if anybody has any interest, I will only accept fantasy football advice for these players....besides the obvious that I should have cut them weeks ago. If you tell me something similar they are yours free.

Even though it is tight as hell, I don't really need to do pen-to-paper to know how things stand with my game with Frank going into tomorrow night...  It's clear as a bell (and, yes, I've factored in fumbles and stuff).  As far as the "reasonable" possibilities go, if Westbrook scores a rushing touchdown AND maintains the bonus for yards per reception, Frank wins.  If not, I win.  Regarding the YPR bonus, here's how close that is...  If Westbrook has the receiving stats he has had in three of the four games he's played, 3-for-8, 3-for-14 or 9-for-91, he loses the bonus.  In fact, if he were to go 3 for 8, not only would he lose the bonus, but he would lose the category to me, i.e. the points would reverse; 3-for-14, and he would lose the category insofar as it would be a dead tie.  The only receiving stat line that would maintain the bonus for Frank would be Westbrook's 2-for-17 two weeks ago.  Of course, a 2-point conversion would throw a bone into things.  Anyway, there you have it, Francis...

Put in a bottom-line kind of way,... if, say, on the first play from scrimmage for the Eagles Westbrook makes a reception and goes for like 70 yards for an apparent touchdown and it is reviewed only to find out that he was down at the 1 and he then takes all three downs to rush in a 1-yard touchdown, I will not have only gotten gray hairs from the plays themselves and the booth review, but I will literally, as he scores the touchdown, wretch a Zarathustran black snake from my deepest bowels as I fall before my television and wallow in mine own vomit and excrement.

So, with that said, good luck, Frank!

It looks like the top of the leader board just got more crowded.  I got spanked by DB, but I beat Frank.

I have been the victim of Defense's this year.  For at LEAST the second time, the Def I am playing against has posted a shut out.

I'd been meaning to respond to this but got wrapped up in the exchange between you and Dan and didn't get around to this until now.

First I owe you an apology, Joe. Lemón squirrel tastes mighty fine (ESPECIALLY when it's covered in Whiz). You whupped me and I am man enough to eat the crow I deserve (or the meal I mentioned above). ANYWAY......

I actuallly think the deal proposed is pretty fair/reasonable. Comparing Jacobs to Benson - absolutely no contest. Benson is a huge upgrade. Double the touchdowns and almost double the yards. Plus, there is no significant #2 to mess with Benson right now (A. Bradshaw in NY is very significant on the negative side to Jacobs).

Comparing Boldin to Witten - on a sexy scale, Boldin wins hands down. On a performance scale, very iffy. Boldin has only 69 more yards receiving than Witten, no difference in TDs (1) and has a fumble to boot. Advantage here to Steg but by no means in scale-tipping ways that Benson is over Jacobs. So therefore there was a request for ....

Choice. Hmmm. Lots of potential. Just not showing it. And when he does get a chance (with Jones out)....he has a monster game against KC (don't get to play them twice). Again, I see the potential hope but in all fairness, I would think the deal is pretty even at this point (and I probably would have pulled the trigger).

I would just like to point out something absurd.

Mark beat me this week by 11 points.  The difference was total rushing yards: he had exactly 1 more yard rushing than I did.  This means he got 6 points rather than me getting 6 points for winning the category, which is a 12 point swing.  What this means is that it determined the outcome of the game.

Complete roughage.
