See what I mean Travis. I can't say shit w/o peckerwood going crazy.

Anyways Travis. I have a solid trade offer for you. I will send it to you.

Danny I don't have excuses like you, I admit my mistakes...I don't cry about injuries like you are doing, I man up and say that I don;t have enough depth. There is a huge difference IMO. I ahve been rather fortunate this year with injuries. Warner got hammered back to back weeks with Starting RBs going down, Mark lost his bets RB Turner, Frank, Steg and Travis too and I don't see them crying.

I look forward to seeing what "solid" there means...  I'm guess neither "clear-cut" nor "an even exchange".  T, I beg you...  If ridiculous, please do share...

Sorry, Joe...  I'm just calling it the way I see it,... or the way I've seen it...

Oh yeah I forgot, I'm sorry guys. Ever since the Danny fiasco I now should just put all of my offers on the website to save everybody some phone calls. But since it mayl be posted here by some owners anyways, I don't mind sharing some of the info, but I don't want to share all of it because I would not want to start a bidding war and have Travis pull a Warner on me LOL...J/K

We are in the process of still negoitiating. I wont share the offers/counter offers, but I will say that we are trying to figure out if:

Boldin = (Percy Harvin and Trout's 2nd rounder.)

This is where we are as of now. So feel free guys to toss in your 2 cents. I think it's close, more on potential, or more on Boldin's decreased value??? You tell him/us. at this point it really doesn't matter because Danny will

on whatever I throw out there, because my team sucks, my players are shitty...blah...blah...you know the rountine.
So go ahead and give us your feedback, although I don't thhink that this deal will go through because Travis may have 2-5 guys call him and ask about the specifics and see if they can make him a better deal. It's all fair game. I understand, we all talk about trade offers with other friends so it's all good.

So if Boldin equals Percy Harvin and Trout's Second Rounder.....then just trade him Boldin.

Or, trade him Trout's first rounder

But to answer your question...while that may be a fair offer, I do not think it would benefit his team as much as Boldin.  And I am sure you are more willing to trade Harvin and a 2nd rounder because Boldin is a bigger benefit to your team.

Well, Joe, especially if you needlessly preannounce your dealings here on the board!  I mean, yes, of course, you're right that people can talk with whomever they please about whatever they please.  BUT, in all frankness, I don't know what your perception is, but I don't think people are sharing all too much information by way of personal contacts by phone or even e-mail...  Let's face it...  I'm kind of "command central", if you will, and I, unfortunately, speak to folks much less than I would like, but it is what it is at the moment...  Here's the run-down.  I've spoken to you, Joe, now two weeks in a row solely because of issues with your lineup submissions.  Before that, there was a good two weeks that went by that date back to that Week 8 nightmare that we didn't communicate and even that was by private message here, and you are the person I speak to most.  Second, would be Mark who I haven't spoken to for going on three weeks now.  On average, during the season, I speak with Mark probably about once every three weeks.  Warner I spoke with, almost solely for the purpose of trade, for the first time this season back heading into Week 8, and have not spoken with him since.  Trout I was speaking to a couple times a week up and through Week 7, but haven't heard from him since he called in his lineup last-minute and we cut that deal going into Week 9.  Danny I've spoken with about six times all season and all in clusters heading into/during Weeks 2 and 9.  Pak, though we keep in touch on family matters at least during the holidays and such, I spoke with for the first time in like forever, which bums me out mind you, about a week ago.  Travis I haven't spoken with since around the beginning of the season, I think Week 1, and that was just once; our exchanges by private message Week 8 regarding trade possibilities were very brief and nonsubstantial.  Frank I spoke briefly and last-minute with once all season around Week 3 when he was looking to unload James Davis (fortunately for me, I didn't fall victim to him like Trout did to you, Joe, moreover, picking up Davis for free a week later, thank you); Week 8, again when I was desperate, we had brief and nonsubstantial communication about trade possibilities by private message.  Last, BUT NOT LEAST, the best man at my wedding, DB I, to my great chagrin and I'm sure his as well, have NOT spoken with even once or, save for family matters about which we stay in touch, really been communicado all season!  Although with some time off here for T-day, I plan to change this sad reality (heads up, D).  Everyone above can corroborate these facts.  The premise I perceive that you, Joe, think kiboshes (might) get put on trades you offer due to people talking is a false one.  In any event, Joe, while I may be command central, I think it is you who is "demand central", and with all the unnecessary preannouncement trade talk you are famous for I think you are just shooting yourself in the foot. As for others bringing your offers to the boards here, like ME, it's to put their absurdity on display; after all, nothing is going to happen anyway, so really no harm, no foul, just shits and giggles.  But, as I type that, there is a serious moment of realization there...  It's not people's talking; it's not people's valuing players differently, which has been the case since time immemorial; it is that you offer, sometimes utterly, LAUGHABLE deals (good tidings worth sharing with all) that you cut so few deals of any significance.  Words of Wisdom from The Steg... It is the mirror more than the magnifying glass that much more often shows you where the problem lies, at least the one you can do something about!

I shall like to elaborate on this tiny portion of my last post...

on Nov 21st, 2009, 1:56pm, StegRock wrote:
... it's not people's valuing players differently...

To the degree that much ado has been made about the Jason Witten aspect of my trade with Mark, the point is being missed...  Mark wanted, went after one of my top (three) players, my 1b running back, Ryan Grant.  He knew that without any quarterbacks that particular week and only one moving forward as well as being fairly thin at RB, my precarious situation did not lend itself to moving Grant "easily".  But, he wanted him and he went after him.  At the very least, for a blue-chippish player like Grant, I needed a decent quarterback and some sort of running back.  He looked at his roster and saw that he had just that and then some to get the deal done, i.e. to try to avoid its going into "I've got to think about it" land, without even touching his regular starting lineup.  Jennings became a necessary part of the deal so as to infuse it with a little stability for me.  Hasselbeck, McFadden and Bush all have somewhat shaky futures, at least compared to Grant.  Grant has that entrenchedness that some of you have heard me refer to.  By adding Jennings, another backup for him mind you, into the deal, he gave me something in the way of longer-run stability, but at the least of the three positions.  At the end of the day, he procured for himself an all-important #1b/#2 running back for a bunch of backups, his #3 QB, #'s 4/5 RB's, and a #4 RC, the former three of whom lack the level of stability a fantasy footballer prefers.  Witten was somewhat of an afterthought.  But, at least, to the degree that he becomes a focal point of analysis of the trade the analysis is fallacious.  I had to make major cuts based on the trade.  He did not value Witten too highly, but he did value him.  It was more just replenishment for the receiver he added into the deal to get the deal done.  Note that this deal involved virtually NO haggling.  He offered it to me earlier in the week and stuck by the offer later in the week when I found myself coming back to him, and during that second phone call we literally cut the deal in like less than three minutes.  No bullshit splitting of hairs.  I know I am speaking for Mark here, but I think my representation is veracious and very accurate.  That's why I'm willing to lay it out here for all to read.  If Mark does chime in, I am confident that he will corroborate my reporting of the facts.

Now, bringing this around full-circle back to Joe, Hasselbeck versus, say, Cassel, advantage Hass; McFadden and Bush versus, say, Donald Brown and Choice, a wash; Jennings versus, say, Boldin, another wash, BUT could you imagine how NOWHERE an offer of, say, (a healthy) Benson (let's say a week ago or a week or two from now... if his injury status even really matters), a bump up from Grant mind you, and, say, Witten or Tony Gonzalez for Cassel, Brown, Choice and Boldin would go!?!?  It wouldn't even get off the ground.  I know.  Much less offers with Joe don't.  Frankly speaking, the same stands for Warner (I'm sorry, Steve, but, to be fair here, you emphatically turned down a similar, in fact a bit better of a deal than the one I made with Mark).  THAT, and nothing else such as background "gossip" or divergent player evaluation, the former begging the question and the latter a fallacy, is prohibitive of making big deals!  Joe, you often "randomly" say to dudes that you like so-and-so top player.  But, you don't really go after them.  It's like, when you say to me that you like Benson, I'm supposed to put together the deal that gets him to you, which is a waste of time (this is where I think Feder is legitimized in being fed up even though his expression of it is lame) because deals like the aforesaid just don't go anywhere with you.  You'd try to substitute like Garcon or Lance Moore for Boldin as well as get into seeking an advantage by playing the needly, never-ending draft pick game, which always results in "unhappy customers".  I am going to speak for myself here, but I think I speak for a bunch of the guys when I say that I prefer to begin trade talks with a legit deal and spend as little time as possible tweaking it.  It's just about making it match up, i.e. to halves of a whole.  I don't like starting with some bogus deal that greatly favors me that I then hope I can "bulldog" through but that doesn't make it all the way to being fair for my trading partner, at which point I, of course, if I were you, won't cut the deal.

Last I checked, Joe, this board was for the GBRFL!  NOBODY, and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOBODY, here gives a rat's ass about how you are fairing in your other league!  Such a response is irrelevant in this venue.  I'm sure you have any of a number of players in other leagues that you don't have in this one.  I, myself, have Favre in the CBFL (a much more closely related league to this site, mind you), but... who HERE is supposed to care?  That Brees is helping you "crush in your other league" has no relevance to us here.  Remember... non sequitur...???  Look it up...

Go get him Pak, you look like the best built team that can make a run at him.

Yeah, thanks Joe. My freefall started when you Jinxed my team with a message like that.  Hopefully it works with Bohrer as well.

Sorry about my lapse in activity this month boys, but it's been all about High School football in this house lately. Steffen's team was ranked 6th in the state and it's been pretty exiting around here lately.

Anyway, my team sucks and I'm looking to throw some games to get a better lottery pick. I'd like to trade "guaranteed" wins for protection spots. Let me know if anyone is interested.

(Let's see what kind of reaction that garners me Joe)

Because as much as you think your team is great, DB team deserves the respect and is in another league then everyone's team. Joe, respect is earned, when you say intellegent things and or win something that actually means something in this league you may get comments like that. You are a fucking loser, anoying waste of breath in this league and would rather have my wife be a team owner as anoying as she is then you. Hopefully you have had much more success in your other leagues then ours especially since we have to hear about it every week!! This is coming from a 3 time champion bitch!

Lets take a poll Joe so they all know what happened.

Joe calls me, i answer the phone and said i dont have time for your ridiculous offers good bye and hung the phone up! Seriously, i am too busy to listen to your reasoning of stupidity. I did not want to hear it at all and been down this road many times before with you. I actually said put it on email and send it to me.

My curiousity got the best of me so i called him back and he wanted to giver me a late first round pick for next year for Mike Sims Walker and i told him to stick it. I am not saying he is great or anything now but for a first year RC he is good with superstar upside in my humble opinion. We all know "usually" there is crap left in the draft after the 5 or 6th pick and we all know it usually takes 3 years for a rc to bloom. How is that being a dick? I just dont like dealing with idiots and am tired of your obnoxious ways.

I know my team has a lot of holes but one thing that has killed me in the past is lack of patience with my players. I have done a great job in drafting players and picking up players in free agency. I have done a lousy job in waiting for them to mature and giving them away or dropping them. Just to name a few, Maurice Jones Drew, Tom Brady, Reggie Wayne, so now i will be patient and hopefully in a year or two a guy like SIms Walker or Hakeem Nicks will be top 5 rcs. Time will tell i guess. Joe you are the dick!! Better yet go suck on one!
