Learning, learning...  Like I stated in my email, I was envisioning this thread to be for "Draft Commentary", insights on picks, that anybody, onlookers, could look in at and get something out of.  I was not looking for it to devolve into trade talks, which are more of a personal matter.  That can be done here: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=53;action=display;num=1339092478;start=350.  But, whatever...  I see the adjustment I should make in the future.  Proceed kind of however you want...

So two QBs over Miles Sanders.  Too many damn fumbles in college (10 last year- 7 lost) and Doug Pederson loves RBBC.   Jordan Howard, Sproles, Corey Clement will all get carries.   While Howard and Sproles will be gone at the end of this year, they will replace them with someone else.

I thought that at first, too, but an accurate and successful short qb married to a perfect match in coach and offense can succeed.  Drew Brees.  Russell Wilson.

Yes, but only for this year, right?  Long-term it has no effect, seems to me.  McCoy is washed.

Damian Williams, who granted is kind of a scrub, is also in the way, though, as is next year's draft class.  Also, I think McCoy could have a reawakening being back with Reid.

I would have taken Murray at #1 probably for the upside.  That situation kind of feels like Seattle a few years ago with Pete Carroll/Russell Wilson.  Frank needs a RB more so you can't fault the pick.  

I would have taken Daniel Jones #3 and certainly would have taken him had he been available to me at #9.  

I hope my pick of Darrell Henderson is a complete waste and that he never sees the field!

While I like the Josh Gordon pick, Travis ... you could have given me a 4th rounder for him, protected him and then taken Quincy Enuwa in the 9th round.  I was hoping that Gordon came to me in the 3rd but knew that wasn't happening.

Well, hindsight is 20/20: his reinstatement, Harry's injury, etc. makes him a flyer worth taking, I think.  And in general this year I'm just using picks to try to hit on a #1 receiver.

And I would be absolutely stunned if Quincy Enunwa fell to the 9th round.

I should conclude all my replies to Bohrer with the qualification "BHIAETC" (But He Is An Eight Time Champ).  (I have done so retroactively above.) A man who wins that often, and who picked Mahomes at the end of the first round, should not be disagreed with lightly.

Just offering some FFA (free, friendly, advice).  You could have improved your team by dealing for Gordon when I offered him and used your 2nd rounder on someone else, but whatever ... you got him anyway.

In the debate between T and D, D is right, period.  Though the draft is fun, trades are the key! [smiley=key.gif]  They allow you to proactively sculpt and craft your team.  But, anyway, in the case being debated, it is about a matter of maximizing value.

I agree with the principle.  The case of Gordon in particular is messy, though.  He didn't play until this past week, after our roster cuts.  We didn't even know if he could play in regular season games until very recently.

You gotta roll the dice... if you are going to sculpt your roster via trades (and not just be at the mercy of what falls to you via the draft and free-agency, which is what trades too tend to become when one is hyperfocused on "objective valuations"<--subjective-ish word used on purpose).  In other words, and it is not just a throwaway comment,... NO guts, NO glory!

That is a good pick.  Gordon is done.  Ekeler, though the "#1", may not be a true "#1" in kind (species).  Jackson may be, and that current "1a/1b" situation may flip in Jackson's favor, even to the degree of his becoming the #1 and Ekeler's becoming the #2.  With that said, Ekeler always seems to meet the call and rise when the opportunity presents itself.

I don't know anything about Lock except that he went to Missouri and was a 2nd or 3rd rounder in the NFL draft.  Best case scenario is that he is the Broncos QB of the future which is a premium in this league (wink, wink).  Worst case scenario is that Beckham and AB flake out and I regret not drafting Landry.

I was about to snag the Patriots at the 4.05.  Did not expect a team with 2 Defenses to draft another one.

Instead, so went old man WR in Edelman who is super steady week in week out.
