My birthday went something like this...

Had an important client meeting in the morning.  Did not go well.

Spent the rest of the day at work.

Came home and had dinner and cake.

Installed a new light fixture in the basement.

Moved the bed in the guestroom (which is going to be a nursery come May).

Went to bed later than I would have liked.

Thanks, BW!  It made my day when I first checked in around 11:30 this morning and saw your post.  It set the tone for a wonderful birthday.  Thanks for remembering, or at least taking the "hint" that I gave on "The Great Smiley Project & Avatar Madness" thread. You da' man!  Now, I am all teary-eyed.

Happy Birthday Steve!  Hope it was a great one.  I spent your birthday trying (unsuccessfully) to catch a flight back to the blizzard-ridden east coast.

Anyway, since there are no "smiley-candles", I hope this will suffice instead...

Seriously... happy belated birthday.

Great use of "flipa", Philly!

Anyway, Philly, BW, WB, besides thanking you all for wishing me a happy birthday, I want to thank each of you, especially BW, I guess, since he "initiated the re-initiation," for continuing to use this thread... for its intended purpose.  I think keeping stuff like this on one thread helps a) keep things orderly on the boards, b) bring us together in a more familial way, and c) allow us to keep track of members' birthdays more easily.

On that note, if anybody else wants to post his/her birthday, go ahead and do it here so we have it on public record and can easily remember it when the time comes!

(Now, Philly, get on over to the "Smiley" thread and kill this f'n thing off, will ya'? )

Mine is tomorrow. I plan on sleeping until noon (I get off work at 6am), then doing a whole lot of nothing until 8pm, when I have to go back to work.
Then, Thursday, me and the gang from work are headed to the Oakland Coliseum for the A's-Mariners day game. Plenty of brew and eats at the game, then home for a softball game and more beer afterwards. Don't know what the wife has planned for me yet, she is pretty secretive about the gifts she buys me...

Happy Birthday Jim!  I guess at your age sleeping until noon is about the most excitement you can get...

Seriously, though... enjoy it!

Let me get my birthday hat, my mickey-mouse ears, for my "man" Jim's birthday...  This guy has been a key part of things 'round here, and I can only hope that this message sufficiently expresses my gratitude, at least for the time being.  On that note, I'll be the one to present the special "Gridiron" birthday cake this time, a tradition started by "Phil"...

Anyway, mistake aside...
