Well, guys and gals, we are on the verge of TWO STRAIGHT WEEKS of donations thanks to a last-minute save yet again, this time by Larsen89 a.k.a. Tim Larsen, one of our new impact "factor backs" on "the Gridiron"! It's not often new guys step up with donations like Tim has done here, but in "the streak", we've had three relative newbies, Chuck, Will and Tim here, answer the call. That means A LOT to me because it indicates that, after almost four years now, guys aren't taking long to "believe" in the "project" that is "the Gridiron @FantasyFootballer.com". It also means that our master list of donors is growing... http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/donate.htm. And, here are all the Gridironers who have answered the call and contributed to this unbelievable run of generosity... DAY 1 - Mark Hahn and Chuck Hamilton DAY 2 - Dave Bohrer DAY 3 - Cheryl Wall DAY 4 - Ken Mesecher DAY 5 - Jim O'Dell and Todd Webster DAY 6 - Kevin Anderson DAY 7 - Ray Matty DAY 8 - Rick Gould DAY 9 - Gene Nestro DAY 10 - Will Meyer DAY 11 - Jamie Josko DAY 12 - Tony Onisko DAY 13 - Tim Larsen DAY 14 - Robert Hovey We are ONE donation from extending "the streak" to TWO WEEKS!!! I sure hope at least some one of our generous Gridiron brothers or sisters out there plans to complete WEEK TWO of "the streak" and make for the dawn of DAY FOURTEEN...

| No, it isn't, ! In fact, donating to "the Gridiron" is VERY EASY! Thank you very much for this timely contribution, Robert! As a matter of fact, I just went down to my mailbox a little bit ago, and, again, neither of the donations I am expecting to come via regular mail arrived. So, you, Robert, have made DAY FOURTEEN a reality! And, I, furthermore, thank you for NOT waiting until the last minute and making me sweat it out. It was nice walking down to the mailbox not taking deep breaths on the way. Mind you, I don't care when I get them, and, in fact, this one was received in the afternoon, but, boy, morning donations sure are nice. It's nice having the DAWN of "the streak" coincide with the dawn of the day, so to speak. It just seems so... natural... But, anyway, you've all been generous... I also want to add that while Robert's donation was modest, it is more than I outline in that last illustration (of the possibilities) I gave. If a donation in the very reasonable amount of Robert's here today was made every day for one year,... WE'D DEFINITELY HAVE OUR MAGAZINE IN '07, in even grander fashion than I'm currently envisioning. SO,... is there anyone out there who will answer the call next and put their name on the list? DAY 15 - ???

Well,... it is after midnight even here in Hawaii, alas,... and "the streak" hath finally been broken... But, it sure was something else. It gave me a little something special to look forward to every day, and while we won't get our magazine out of it or anything like that, you guys have surely helped me cover the expenses around here. Depending on how the rest of the year goes with donations, I may have a chance at putting a number "in the black" on my '07 tax-return forms, which would be a nice benchmark in and of itself. Ultimately, though, my goal is NOT merely to cover the overhead around here. Really it is to make enough above and beyond the overhead to be able to do the magazine without having to make cold-calls, which may or may not happen come next spring. Again, $10 a day for even just 300 days would pretty much get the job done. As things stand right now, based on the total donations that came by way of "the streak", we cut into that 300 days by about 60 (which, if you do that math,...)... Not bad! Just 240 more to go... to get us REALLY rollin'... At any rate,... I'd like to once again THANK all those who were so generous over the last TWO WEEKS, making this run of donations a reality: DAY 1 - Mark Hahn and Chuck Hamilton DAY 2 - Dave Bohrer DAY 3 - Cheryl Wall DAY 4 - Ken Mesecher DAY 5 - Jim O'Dell and Todd Webster DAY 6 - Kevin Anderson DAY 7 - Ray Matty DAY 8 - Rick Gould DAY 9 - Gene Nestro DAY 10 - Will Meyer DAY 11 - Jamie Josko DAY 12 - Tony Onisko DAY 13 - Tim Larsen DAY 14 - Robert Hovey THANK YOU!!!

Well, "the streak" may have ended, but that didn't stop this member's donation from, alas, arriving by mail today. Thank you kidcrash for becoming a three-time donor here on "the Gridiron" and, yet again, not in a small way, might I add. ... We wouldn't need too many donations like this to get to the promised land, I tell ya. kc doesn't spend too much time on the site like some of us addicts, but it's quality, not quantity and he is sure the kind of quality guy I like to see plugging himself into the "effort" here. It's a pleasure havin' you here, man, and this generous show of appreciation tells me that you get A LOT of pleasure out of the site. So, thank you... and you're welcome! The current list of donors can be viewed at the following page: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/donate.htm.

Well, a little surprise comes my way to kick off Labor Day weekend a little early! A little tip, I'll call it, added to the league fee that one of my GBRFLers sent off to me. Modest,... but it ALL helps. Thank you Double D a.k.a. Steve Warner for always getting your league fee in very early and this time including a little extra scratch for the old Stegger. If everyone had it in their hearts to give just a little extra the way Steve did here,... well,... the "promised land" wouldn't always seem so far off in the distance.

The list grows... Another one of our long-timers here has decided to step up... and,... let me say,... make up for lost time!!! 25 to 30 of these kinds of donations,... and, mind you, we are getting there, and we'll be in business with our magazine in '07. This time it comes courtesy of DOLFAN a.k.a. Joe Parsons! Joe, THANK YOU for not just making a donation of however much, but, moreover, for the amount you did make it for. I know you have a big family to provide for and kids growing up into the "expensive" years, and I know this is no small sacrifice for you. It is what it is... That makes it that much more meaningful to me. Donors list exists both in the initial post of this thread and here: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/donate.htm.

Another nice little "tip" from one of my GBRFLers, Drew Rosenhaus a.k.a. Mark Hahn... It's not much, but, again, it adds up when it comes in numbers. If every active member here sacrificed the cost of about a (New York ) lunch twice a year, we'd be on our way to big-time. But, patience is a virtue. As time goes by, with modest, but kind gestures like these, we take steps toward the promised land.

My boy D.T. a.k.o."t.G".a. Flesh is Fantasy has kicked it up a notch with a nice second donation. The level of assistance of this donation if given across the board, i.e., by folks using the site to the hilt but whose names do not yet appear on donations page, would do it for "us". I will admit that, nevertheless, we are approaching a number where I could start considering digging back into my pocket come next spring to make the magazine happen. We're still quite a ways off,... but we're approaching four digits here (if I include StegsList.com sign-ups).

Well,... another Gridironer, a busy one who is a regular poster and, MOREOVER, who has been responsible for our Vikings FF-specific Team Report for over two years now, has given me a hand (and not just this kind, ; this kind, )!!! A hearty thank you this time goes out to captainpurple a.k.a. Robert Christenson. It is awesome, man, that you've decided to add your name to the list of great dudes who are helping me get this site where I want it to be, the right way and for the benefit of more than just me. I have a vision for this place, and your kind gesture here, which expands our donors list by yet another person, is helping me make steps toward the realization of that vision. Thank you for that! (And, by the way,... yes, as kec touted up in "the Red Zone", he did order a t-shirt! )

Well, I might as well do this all in one shot... As of 8:25 last night, Friday night that is for me, the fall semester came, alas, to a screeching halt as I concluded my 80th page of term-paper writing. One more semester left until I hit the midpoint of sorts in my journey here, a point at which I can legitimately call myself StegMaster, though not yet Dr. StegRock, and I now over the next two and a half weeks turn my attention to where the next stop is going to be. In any event, most notably, as is evidenced by your very eyeballs on this message, we are, after a little nuts and bolts work, back up and running,... and I return to belatedly announce good tidings... that I am MOST appreciative of and happy to announce in light of the "mini St. Patrick's Day disaster" I experienced here during the final week, finals week, of the semester ("mini" mainly because, since this had happened to us before, I this time better knew how to "manage" it, though the timing could NOT have been much worse). Anyway, about a week ago, I did receive a gracious holiday donation from steelkings a.k.a. Todd Webster, a fella who already gives a bunch to the site by being a regular participant and covering two teams in our FF-specific Team Reports section, and now he is a THREE-time donor to our wonderful site here. That merits a "three thumbs up"... Todd, thank you so much for this substantive expression of holiday good will and appreciation of my efforts! Merry Christmas! What a way to "kick off" the season!!!

Well, it's been awhile, but a Gridironer hath stepped up. It's one of my homeboys, so to speak, but I'll take the love... as I know it's genuine. In terms of the analogy I've used here and there, Drew Rosenhaus a.k.a. Markie Hahn has given up not just... but for the greater good of "the Gridiron". It's much appreciated, my friend. Hopefully, there's enough left enough over for the Hahn clan to... Of course, as I went to log into my credit card processing account, I got slapped in the face, i.e. I got hit up for the account renewal fee there. My account expires on June 3rd. It's actually a miracle someone gave me a donation by cc to process in time. If I missed the expiry date, I would have had to pay an extra "maintenance fee" to reopen my account. So, DOUBLE-thanks, Markie... That's makin' a difference, and that's how makin' a difference can snowball... On the other hand, the renewal fee pretty much ate up that donation.

Well, well, well,... who yet again tops,... nay,... puts himself atop "the Gridiron" donors list??? Could it be the guy who puts the West in the East? Yuuup! After recently adding another bumpkin to the West family mix, he still finds a way to sport "a couple pies" for us guys on the Grid. Yous know... Jeff and I have surely had our grappling matches, BUT, make no mistakes about the difference this guy has made to this site. Thanks a bunch, Jeff! If just 17 more guys gave it up the way Jeff and Mark have (I'm including myself as a symbolic third, making it 20 guys), we'd be on our way. I'd surely consider throwing that grand that I say I want to keep for myself back into the pool and see if we couldn't get that magazine off the ground (a.s.a.p., i.e., we still could get a late publication out by mid-Augustish, which is the key time anyway, if this all came together right now).

Besides being a solid donor (for those in the know here, cw has matched the prior two donations ), Chuck generously joined Steg's List and has been a great, thoughtful presence on the site. From an administrator's perspective, he's been a pleasure to have around. ... I'm also thinkin' we're going to get him goin' on the Panthers report that he requested a ways back here in short order. That's great news, cw- ! We'll be in touch soon! BUT, first, for some MORE GREAT news... Just got some love two days in a row,... and it's on the same scale... if you're following!!! So, make it 15!!! This time it is good, old rickgpin a.k.a. Rick Gould, who is a three-time donor, a purchaser of a few t-shirts, our team correspondent for the St. Louis Rams, and an all-around good guy. I want to thank "The Rick" for being such a wonderful presence on the site. Whether or not donations (can) continue to flood in at this rate, I don't know. BUT, these solid amounts are inspirational. They are definitely the kinds of numbers that could get us to the "promised land" (of the magazine) someday. Right now, though, they, at least, can help us get out of the red for a second year in a row. I hope there are others out there who want to make a difference and get this co-op really rollin'!
