Three things... First, thanks for all the kinds words about baby Monica. Second, just before all hell broke loose in my life, I had made the following post... on Oct 11th, 2008, 3:24pm, StegRock wrote: Did you guys see the two new pics "eslacrosschina" posted on that thread? If not, you GOTTA check 'em out! Hilarious! Third, I ask this question with some purpose... Do any of you frequent the Outback Steakhouse, like you're definitely going to be headin' there in the foreseeable future? If so, there is a small favor you could do for me... Let me know, and I'll contact you behind the scenes. Thanks!

Guys, you may have noticed the restoration of the "Co-commissioner Services" link on "the Gridiron"! I was prompted to do this because, even though I had taken the link down back during the beginning of the time of troubles here this year, someone, somehow found the page, which I had left up, and I actually got an order! $5... I'm, alas, competing with your seven-year-old daughter's lemonade stand! ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... But, really, what these guys got in return was worth WAY MORE than the $5 they paid. I put in almost two hours on it. ... To bad I'm not given the opportunity to show that to more people more often. Just gotta keep pluggin' away... But, I digress... In a couple days I'm gonna ask the dude if he'd be cool with my using that response as a sample to put on the "Co-commissioner Services" page. If he does, I'll point you guys in that direction so yous can check it out. Anyway, kind of neat!

It's official... I hate Major League Baseball. Around the Horn started today's show off, like every other sports talk show I'm sure, with the news about Sabathia's going to the Yankees for some ungodly figure, which caused me to promptly shut it off. The economics of baseball is absolutely greed-driven and disgusting. But, whatever. Idiots are free to be idiotic in America where constructive criticism is (labeled) politically incorrect because we all, as a country, have to coddle each other's insecurities rather than help facilitate each other's self-improvement. We're regressing back into the womb of the huddle masses. Moral exemplarity is trumped by the "need" for false modesty in an insecure, even self-loathing society. Most cannot see the inherent problem or contradiciton of being a stanch supporter of both privacy rights and social welfare policy (though it's the fairly explicit platform of one political "persuasion"). Our excessive freedom "to" without responsibility has led us down the path where selfishness is so engrained in our psyche that we don't even know what it really means anymore and the goal is the lowest common denominator. But, I digress... What does MLB economics ultimately mean to me (besides its symptomatic connection to watching my and, moreover, our children's country go to ruins... in their times)? If the NFL were to ever go in the direction of MLB, "I" would be hard-pressed to hang on. The only possible saving grace in such a case would be the aspect of the hobby, as I see and value it, that allows you to maintain a handful of fairly substantive friendships (over long distances), have a few friends that were once very close remain fairly integral in your life and not just fade away into the realm of Christmas card acquaintanceship... and beyond, into ultimate oblivion. The structure of MLB economics couldn't be a bigger turnoff to a chap like me. But, hey, if the lemmings are still in queue,... it's all good in America, right? Shut up (the irony); get back in line; sports is supposed to be the distraction from "this stuff"... The problem, sports, especially as manifest by MLB, has become part of the "this stuff".

You'll have to pardon my absence over the last couple days. I've been sick as a... the last two days plus... Starting midday Saturday, I've been in fever, dehydration, constipation, intestinal, bodyachy, headachy, sleepless HELL. Today I'm starting to normalize,... I think.
