Sleeper WR's

In response to an e-mail I received from Albert J. regarding "Sleeper Wide Receivers"... In order, if available, I would try to get my hands on: Quincy Morgan Steve Smith Antwaan Randle El Jerry Porter T.J. Houshmandzadeh Derrius Thompson This is a list of pretty "deep sleepers." If they are too deep/obscure, let me know. I'll give it another try! Does anybody else have any thoughts on the matter?

| Though Walker is intriguing, he is also still a rookie. In a Keeper League, I suppose he has quite a bit more upside. But, for this year, I see his numbers' being limited. Actually, I like/have liked the lot of Green Bay receivers quite a bit vis-a-vis the skeptics. The group consists of 1) Terry Glenn, 2) Donald Driver, 3) Robert Ferguson, 4) Javon Walker, 5) Charles Lee, 6) Bubba Franks, 7) Tyrone Davis, hell, I even like 8) David Martin. Oh, and, did I forget to mention RB Ahman Green? Point being, I just do not see enough balls to go around for a rookie, mind you, to have enough success to be on the fantasy radar. Now, if he is forced into more action by way of an injury, that is a different story. But, as things stand now,... Actually, the rookie receiver I prefer is Jabar Gaffney, who is going to get to "grow up" with David Carr.

I also like Gaffney and think Carr will be a good one (eventually), but if forced to take a rookie WR (which I never do, they almost never have good 1st years - Gardner, Robinson, Mitchell last year), I would most likely choose Antonio Bryant. He is the #2 receiver (by default after Rocket went down) and has a good running game to open up the offense a bit. His QB is athletic and likes to throw deep, so if the attention is being paid to Galloway, Bryant could get some looks.

| The Gaffney-Carr combo is nice because they will get to grow together, including through the "growing pains." I think they could be a nice duo in years to come. Could be like a Couch-Johnson kind of thing. But, you are probably right... Bryant, after Ismail's going down, is the better pick-up right now. Good call!
