Eagles get FOUR compensatory picks for upcoming draft. As a result of losing Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, Carlos Emmons, and Duce Staley to free agency, the Eagles gain a 5th, 6th, and two 7th round picks. That brings their total up to 13 draft picks for this year. The Eagles have shown a propensity to package picks to move up in the order. They are definitely in great shape to do that again this year.

Eagles | Owens' New Agent Seeking New Deal - from www.KFFL.com Thu, 7 Apr 2005 11:40:29 -0700 Updating a previous report, Ashley McGeachy Fox, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Drew Rosenhaus, the new agent for Philadelphia Eagles WR Terrell Owens, is seeking to rework the deal of his client, who signed a seven-year, $46 million contract just a year ago. "I think the issue here is I've had a good relationship with the Eagles," Rosenhaus said. "I've got some work for the team, and I plan on getting (a new deal) done." Rosenhaus plans to meet with Eagles president Joe Banner, possibly later this month, to discuss the situation. "This is something we initiated," Rosenhaus said. "It's nothing bad. It's only good. We think it's something that is going to resolve itself, and I intend to do my best to get it resolved." Rosenhaus did not rule out that Owens could miss some or all of the Eagles' off-season workouts and possibly training camp should a new deal not get done. http://kffl.com/hotw/nfl (Scroll down, but it's all here.) Ahhh. I needed that. What is it, like 22 more weeks?

| Doubtful. The Eagles will be happy with Westbrook and Buckhalter and whichever RB (Brandon Jacobs) they draft. Quote:| Westbrook is still hanging out there. Any news on him? |
| He still hasn't signed the one-year tender, so he could conceivably skip the upcoming mini-camp. I think he will sign it though. Then the Eagles can extend his contract during the season. The Eagles have also been shopping Corey Simon around and one of the possible trades involved acquiring Travis Henry - so the Eagles are looking at other options. Quote:| And finally, what the dilly-o with Terrell? Eagles going to move him? Or are they going to play hardball with him? I am thinking they should probably do something or have NO wide receivers next year. Brutal! |
| Eagles will play hardball and refuse to rework his deal. TO will whine a bit and sit out for part of training camp before finally coming in and playing. The issue is that TO's deal (which isn't a good one for him) was heavily backloaded. He did pretty well last year ($10 million or so), but this year he will only receive around $3 mill. (Ironically, that is pretty much on par with Marvin Harrison and Chad Johnson for 2005.) The deal then picks up again towards the end of the contract (when TO knows he won't be around). The Eagles will draft a WR on the first day of the draft and maybe add another sleeper later on.

| This just in!!! The good-hearted people of Philadelphia will be conducting a food drive so TO can afford to feed his family. As we all know, it's getting tough to keep up with a meager 8 figure salary. On top of that, no one likes take a pay cut! Think about having to get by with only a 7 figure salary! I know I'd certainly take a shot at the most beloved member of my company if I were forced to do that! (See TOs remarks about being tired in the SB) Vikes offloaded their problem child to OakTown, lets see how long it takes for TO to piss off McNabb and be on his way out too.

http://ffpro.com/teamreports/eagles/eagles-footballinfoframes.htm -- Updated news! Don't be surprised if Terrell Owens misses more than just a mini-camp. The Eagles have already fined Owens for missing camp and, should they choose, could demand the return of nearly $1.8 million from Owens' signing bonus for a violation of his contract. The Eagles will not give in to Owens or his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. If Owens' ego gets the better of him, which is very possible, Owens could sit out training camp and part/all of the season. Freddie Mitchell was told not to come to mini-camp. First off, the team is trying to trade him, so they don't want to risk an injury. Also, they don't want him poisoning the minds of the young receivers on the team. Regardless of the ability of the team to find a trade partner, Mitchell will be gone before long. Keep a close eye on Greg Lewis. He's poised to take a bigger role in the offense. McNabb repeatedly looked his way and Lewis had as many receiving yards in 3 post-season games as he had in 16 regular season games. Lewis is fast enough to get behind defenders and is willing to go across the middle. Todd Pinkston is a bit of an enigma. It was likely that his role would decrease some this season because of his fear of contact that was evident in more than one game last year, however he could benefit from the absence of Owens and Mitchell. Without those two, Pinkston likely becomes the #1 WR with Lewis as #2 and either rookie Reggie Brown or underachieving 3rd-year WR Billy McMullen as the #3. Rookie WR Reggie Brown has all the tools to be a successful WR in the league, except experience (and sometimes self-motivation). Brown drew the praise of the coaching staff at the mini-camp, although some of that was more a shot at WRs not at camp than anything else.
