A little late, but I would like all your thoughts

In one of my Yahoo! Money Leagues I made a "pre-season" trade, if you will. The trade was for Lavarnues Coles, Tony Gonzalez, and Stephen Davis. The man I gave up was Marshall Faulk. I got off to a 6-0 start. Then, out of nowhere, I went into a huge losing streak, and barely made the "Championship" Playoffs. I finished 4th in the standings, and got knocked out in the first round. People called me dumb for doing that deal, but Faulk was injured for awhile, and I think I made out well. Obviously the outcome was terrible, but, I would like y'alls thoughts on this. My team after the Faulk deal was this. QB Donovan McNabb-After Injury was replaced by Pennington and Kitna WR Eric Moulds WR Donald Driver WR Dennis Northcutt RB Jamal Lewis RB Stacey Mack TE Tony Gonzalez RB T.J. Duckett WR Jerry Porter RB Stephen Davis RB Marcell Shipp WR Chris Chambers I also have another one for you all to ponder.. Also in another Yahoo! Money League, I drafted, IMO, "THE Greatest Fantasy Football Team." QB Daunte Culpepper WR Joe Horn WR Derrick Mason WR Donte' Stallworth RB Duce Staley RB Ahman Green TE Bubba Franks WR Jimmy Smith WR Chad Johnson RB Jamal Lewis RB Corey Dillon WR Jerry Porter WR Peerless Price I finished 9-1 in the season. Got knocked out in the FIRST round of the playoffs... due to a silly "tie-breaker" bah!

| KJ 76, everybody, it has to do with this idea of "after the fact" versus "before the fact" or, at least, "during the fact." The "between the 20's" board description talks about "bragging" and "(fantasy) team rankings", i.e. "rank my team" posts. These are both inherently "after the fact" topics. You are not asking whether or not you should make this deal based on your current roster; you are asking whether or not you should have made this deal by looking at how your roster looked afterwards! That is much more consistent with the "spirit" of "between the 20's" than it is "the Red Zone", on which the discussions and debates are to be forward-looking in nature and should conduce thoughts and conclusions that may be of immediate benefit to others. Guys, I know this can be confusing. Some of these categorizations really split hairs. That is just the nature of this kind of venue. We are just trying to set precedents here in an attempt to avoid the seemingly random posting, i.e. blatant ignorance of board descriptions, which is all too often exacerbated by patterns of loose rules enforcement on the admins' part, that goes on elsewhere. If you are not sure, simply follow this golden rule: post downstream! In other words, if you are not sure where what you want to post should go, play it safe and post it a board lower! I hope this explanation was sufficient and I did not step on anybody's toes too hard. I am just trying to provide a well-maintained environment for us all to continue to enjoy for a long time to come. Thank you all again for your anticipated understanding and compliance.

Guys, for further discussion on this important topic of "moving threads" on "the Gridiron", please go to the following thread; actually, I implore all of you to do so: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1042519004. If you have something you want to say regarding the topic of the "moving of threads," please do it on this other thread. Do NOT do it here! Let's not clutter up KJ 76's thread anymore! Thanks!

KJ, As to your trade, at the start of the year I would have said it was pretty good. With Faulks injury it looks like you made out like a bandit. I think my team this year would have been on par with yours. Qb. Mcnabb,Griese- rb. Holmes,Mcallister,Lewis- Wr. Harrison,Buriss,Coles,D.Jax- te. Heap. Season record was 12-1 + 257 in points and of course got the crap kicked out of me in the 2nd round. Had i made it to the Stupor bowl would have won 171-151. It would have been interesting to see which one of us lucked out. Hope this is on the right thread.
