I went through the transactions from last season, and this is what I have for the 2005 draft picks.  (The teams are listed worst to first, with the order for the first five picks in each round determined by the lottery.)

Tai-ma Terror 1 2 2(Ray) 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Spudville Mashers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Killer Eggplants 1 3 4(Jeff) 4 5 6 7 8 9
FANnie JAMmers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Hudson Hawks 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
UFFOs 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Mile High Madness 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Fighting Chiapets   3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Fat Chick Thrillers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

I should have two additional picks later in the draft that I received from Philly (for trading my first round pick) and Tai-ma Terror (for trading my second round pick).  Not that those picks really matter!

I just went back and double-checked the trades and neither one of them involved Kirk or me sending you a later draft pick.  Both of those trades included a 1st round free agent pick for the week following the trade.  Unless it was posted wrong on the transactions page, it looks like you'll have to rely on free agency to fill out your roster after the draft.

Wow.  That makes absolutely no sense.   I never heard of a team finishing the draft without a full roster.  Usually, if it's not specified, it's assumed that you get the trading teams worst round pick in return.  So, in other words, those two picks (the ones I didn't get) get "thrown away" since we have roster limits and they have no use to anyone but me? Didn't this happen last year and the picks had to be balanced?  If that's the case, so be it.

You will have a full roster. Jeff is slightly incorrect. Anyone who has over 21 (total players and draft picks) forfiet their last round (or rounds) pick and the person who is short the 21 total gets their pick. Or something like that.

So, I would end up with two additional picks at some point in the last round (one for the 1st round I traded and 1 for the 2nd round I traded) that would allow me to fill out my roster to 21 total players.  Is that correct?    Currently, since Jeff and Kirk didn't trade me their last round picks, I currently have 19... while Jeff and Kirk have 22.

I don't have my updated rosters and spreadsheet with all the draft picks and protection spots on this computer, but I'm pretty sure that I traded my extra draft pick away already in a multiplayer deal and I currently have 9 draft slots (2 firsts, 2 seconds, and then 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).  I also think my roster is at 21 players right now.

Maybe I need further explanation on this whole thing too.

While not an expert on this, here is my understanding of how it works:

1) You can protect 12 players.  (Assuming there were no trades for an extra protection spot)
2) You draft your pick (or picks as the case may be) in each round.
3) You continue to draft until you reach the maximum number or players allowed (which is 21).  After you reach 21 players you can no longer draft and you must forfiet any remaining picks.
4) If, after the last round, you have less then 21 players, you keep picking up players until you reach 21.

It'll still be a lottery.  Last year there was a great deal of talk about when we should have it set (historically GBRFL does it the day of the draft - some of us wanted it a month early - we voted and it was a tie).  Here is one thread about the draft order last year as time was running down:
