Case in point, money does not mean...

...DICK nor make things any funner or better when it comes to a hobby like fantasy football. At best, it is just a distraction that detracts from your enjoyment of the game "for itself"; at worst, it potentially ruins your "pure" enjoyment of the hobby. Case in point, at least with regards to money's ineffectiveness in making the game/the hobby more enjoyable, only two of our guys did not submit lineups both of the last two weeks: DT and Feder, with their "big" $500 bet, of which I was often reminded and which is actually, ironically, coming down to the wire. ... On a lighter note, Frank did try to submit his lineup for Week 16 while Gino and I were doing our vows. It was ruled an invalid lineup submission. On the note of the wedding, it truly was magnificent. From the league, DB, who acted as my BM (no, not "bowel movement", although that is what his team this year reminds me of), Frank and Pak were in attendance. The second honeymoon we took to the Bahamas was wonderful, but in ALL sincerity, contrary to what you usually hear (and was also the case for us with regards to our wedding in Korea), the wedding and reception took the cake. The wedding ceremony itself moved nicely and was nicely moving and the reception was a ball. Usually, it is like "just endure the wedding-day stuff" to get to the honeymoon. This was not at all the case for us. Both Gino and I truly enjoyed the company and felt relaxed and comfortable the whole time. It could not have been better, though there were others I wish could have shared in this very special occasion with us. In any event, just a little teaser, something special is in store for those of you getting "thank yous". At this point, I am back home alone with ma... took Gino to the airport early this morning. I will be seeing her on that side of the rock in a month, though. ... Football notes,... The schedule for Week 17 on the "Schedule" page has been updated. Go check it out! Also, though Markie is surely in the driver's seat and will likely win the crown as has been pointed out elsewhere on our GBRFL board here, historically, the first-place team has had trouble beating the last-place team since we started the "two-game" bumper-week format. Only once in the four years we've been doing this has the first-place team won that game,... last year. SO, go DAVEY B! ... However, if not, congrats to Markie on a great season. He is a guy who plays fantasy football with a spirit I personally can identify with and is ultimately a well-deserved champion. He's good for one every TEN years at least!

Congrats to Mr. Hahn....he clearly had the best preseason squad, and than went out and backed it up. And speaking of reminders, (didn't realize that 5 min. converstation was such a burden oh great one), I'd like to tip my cap to the two Internet guys , you know ,the scourges of the league, on their top notch performance this season. Warner, if I hadn't had met you, I would be convinced you were a 500lb angry gorilla when I played you each week. I do also want to apologize for the 3 staight weeks of non-lineups. I somehow allowed my "real" world responsibilties to interfere with the almighty "fantasy world". What a lame excuse, huh? As for the money, I was thinking I could possibly buy one of your championship plaques if I win the bet Feder. Hey if you can beat 'em, join 'em. By the way, is someone suggesting that our non-money league is somehow more passionate than the 95% of fantasy football leagues out there? If so, you really are the omnipotent genius you claim to be General SS . (general SS...where have heard that before?)

| You are forgetting Feder, my friend, and it was more than just a five-minute conversation between us. It doesn't take long to "remind", only seconds actually. | Pulllleeeeeze... Where I take exception to that is the inherent implication that the rest of us don't have real lives and real-world responsibilities that require just as much of us (if not more). Somehow I don't think that would have been the case, anyway, though, if you were in the running for the title come these last three weeks (further confirming my initial "point" of this thread... your life became too busy the very week your chances of a title went mathematically out the window), but, whatever,... it's the "demanding" nature of fantasy football, I know. | Actually, , in most cases and in many ways (not that your intimation here is a valid counter to my point). Moreover, from our conversations, I know how you more completely feel about the issue (i.e. that you are being just a bit tendentious here, unless you were lying then, which I do not think is the case) of my standing my ground and keeping this a non-money league (against a small tide that rises from time to time).
