2007 Draft Date!!!

Guys, I'm gettin' on this WAY LATER than I ever have. It's a function of the fairly unfortunate set of circumstances I find myself in (details about which can be found by sifting through the following page toward the bottom: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1037120039;start=50). 
Anyway, I am pretty open to just about any Saturday and Sunday between now and the kickoff of the regular season. I have spoken with T-Rave, and he's gettin' hitched (I think this weekend).
  CONGRATS, Champ! ... By the way, is Doug walking you down the aisle?
    
In any event, he's told me that anytime from (i.e. and including) or after (I can't remember now) the weekend of August 11th and 12th will probably work just fine for him. So, as of right now, that's the only restriction I am aware of. I'm good to go whenever.
This will be a case again this year where I will not be back in Jersey. I will be here in Hawaii. So, Frank (the usual host), guys back there, if yous want to get together, I, of course, highly encourage yous to, but the draft itself will primarily be being facilitated on-line and via conference call. Again, though, the on-line administration of our annual draft, I think, is a GREAT thing for the site!
Okay... Let's let the discussion on a date begin in earnest! We don't have a whole lot of time here to hammer this out, so let's get to it!!!

I think most of us would agree that the later the better.
I am available on the 18th, 19th and 25th but I think the 25th is when JP is not around. Labor Day weekend works for me also as does August 11th but I would prefer to draft later.
I have Mets tix on the afternoons of August 12th and 26th which are both Sundays.

My two conflicts this year are the 11th and the 25th (weddings). The 12th, 18th, 19th, 26th are all open for me (not for JP and DB, tho).

YIKES!  I got news that REALLY tightens the screws. I just received this message from Danny by e-mail...
For me Aug 26th, 27th weekend would be good. I am out of town through Aug 15th.
Something or, better put, someone is gonna have to give!!! Yous guys may need to start hittin' the horns... 
Based on what I'm seein' here in the early going, I'm thinkin' we may have to do an on-line draft via a thread here on our message board over a period of time, a week or so, with proxy picks and what-not like is done for the CBFL.  I don't know,... but it's not lookin' good.

Did I miss that the 18th/19th was no good? Dan, is the 18th/19th completely unavailable or you would just rather it be the 26th?

Warner says he is out August 4 and August 26-September 2, right? So, the only potential problem with the 18th or 19th is perhaps Feder and the guys we haven't heard from.
I am also able to do an on-line draft during the week if given a couple weeks notice.

The 25th doesn't work for me and the weekend after that (Labor Day weekend) doesn't work for JP. Other than that, your thoughts are right on the money.
So, just looking at what has been posted thus far, the 18th/19th of August could be a possibility.
One more time to you Feder: could the 18th/19th of August work for you? We all know you are out of town up until the 15th. Keep in mind the dates we are talking about fall AFTER the 15th.

Well, I spoke with both Franko  and Pakman  this weekend, and, good news,...  the weekend of Saturday, August 18th and Sunday, August 19th is lookin' golden!!!  Those dates work for them both. Actually, both of them are fairly flexible... if we need to "spin the wheel" again. Frank did also indicate that he'd be up for hosting a little three- or foursome or whatever.  That's up to you guys back there Jersey way, though. Over... and out...

Just to let yous know the "good news"... I have had communication with DT. He is good to go for Sunday, August 19th, so I think that is our date!!!  If anybody wants to acknowledge and second that, please go right ahead.
Also, from what he indicated in his phone messages to me, it's lookin' like he'll be able to get that conference call thing hooked up again for us this year.

So, with August 19th set as our draft date, our cut-down date will be, as always, one week prior, August 12th. Protections will need to be submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, August 12th. I've gone ahead and set up a thread on which you can submit your protections... whenever you want between now and then. Here is a link to that thread:

I'm thinking 2:30 p.m. (EST), 8:30 a.m. (Hawaii time) is fair enough. BUT, there is MORE to come on this front. I, with the help of my lovely, obliging wife Gino,  am "working" on some stuff for that day, in fact. When it's all hammered out, probably sometime tonight my time, tomorrow morning you all's, I'll be making an IMPORTANT post. Be on the lookout for it!!!  In any event, though, we should be able to get a move-on fairly quickly. We don't really have anything to discuss rules-wise and, obviously, when we're not really having a full-on get-together, the awards-presentation ceremony is non-existent. That said, I'd like people to be of the mindset that this is our ONE day out of the year to "hang out" together and chit-chat and that it may take us, AS USUAL, a good five or so hours to complete. Don't let your short attention span ruin the day for us all...
