I am with ya' paul. Here is how I would amend:
Tier 1
1) Marshall Faulk
Tier 2
2) Ahman Green
3) Ricky Williams
4) Priest Holmes
5) Shaun Alexander
6) Corey Dillon
Tier 3
7) Curtis Martin
8) Eddie George
9) Anthony Thomas
10) Fred Taylor
Top-10 Candidates if an injury occurs to the aforementioned:
11) Michael Pittman
12) Duece McAllister
13) Kevan Barlow
14) Michael Bennett
15) Stephen Davis
NOTES:
*Don't buy the hype about Taylor and Mack's splitting carries. The main concern about Taylor, as it always has been, is staying healthy, which, granted, is a significant concern.
*Don't worry about Pittman's dings or the threat of Alstott. When you think Pittman 2002, think Wheatley 2000.
*Stephen Davis's numbers will tail off somewhat in Spurrier's pass-first offense.
*Kevan Barlow is a stud, a little high risk with Hearst still around, but if/when he gets his chance, he will shine a'la Shaun Alexander.
*Curtis Martin is a safe pick, which means two things: He does not have a lot of downside, but he also does not have a lot of upside.

Listen, he is already splitting time! I still maintain that at least by mid-seasonish, Barlow will be getting more carries than Hearst, and if Hearst goes down, he doesn't get phased out, he gets tossed, no thrown, to the curb!

I think Tomlinson is clearly a Tier 3 and Edge should be a Tier 2.

OOOPS! Kind of forgot about Edge, actually!  Don't know how! ??? Paul didn't, then in my amendment, I didn't. Guess that is how it went. Bonehead! Still, though, I would only put him in at about 12 to 15. As for Tomlinson, I am not crazy about him for this year. I think he is going to have a good year, but lackluster vis-a-vis his rookie year and what the expectations are. I'd say he is probably 16 through 18 on my list if I were to ever have written it out in thorough!

Sorry to do this Razzak, but I told you so. Here is the latest out of Fanball regarding the issue of the 49er's need to establish a running game to combat the two-deep zones they have been facing and open up their home-run passing attack.
"'This two-deep stuff is nothing new. You've got to be able to run the ball against it,' coach Steve Mariucci told the Contra Costa Times on Tuesday. 'You've got to be patient. If you run the ball well, people tend to put a safety in the box (near the line of scrimmage). That's why we've got to be able to do that.'
'We've got to establish the running game,' Owens told the San Francisco Chronicle after Sunday's bitter defeat, in which starting halfback Garrison Hearst was held to five yards on five carries.
Hey, maybe that's it. Instead of feeding the rock to old man Hearst, who is averaging 2.6 yards per carry, maybe they need to feature second-year stud Kevan Barlow, who is averaging 5.3 per tote. If you saw Barlow's 31-yard run against the Broncos on Sunday, you know all about his blend of speed, power, and cutback ability."
As I have been laboriously stating for the last few months, Hearst has Lamar Smith 2001 written all over him. He's fine in an offense that can open up the run with the pass, like last year's 49er offense. But, when put in a position where the weight of opening up the pass with the run is squarely placed on his shoulders, no can do. They gotta' wake up, smell the coffee and running with and running Barlow.
