How will the Chargers "D" be NOW?

Well, now that CB Quentin Jammer has been officially brought into the fold, how does the Chargers "D" (continue to) fair?  How much will Jammer improve this defense?  How much will they lose, though, while without Rodney Harrison?  Also, how much does Marty Schottenheimer make them a better overall defense?  Should they be considered to be good to begin with?  Was/Is Cincinnati just that bad?  What's your take?  I'll give you mine later!

Rodney Harrison affects that defense more than Quentin Jammer.    It will be several weeks before Jammer is in a position to make a difference anyway.   He's got too much to learn to even consider him at this point.    It's not like Jimmy Smith or Tony Gonzalez who are established veterans that already know their respective offenses/(defenses).    Harrison is a premier player and the heart and soul of that Charger defense.   Unfortunately, I have the Chargers as my defense in a couple of different leagues, and I'm weighing my options.    They will be vulnerable without Harrison.   He is undoubtedly one of the best combination run/pass defenders in the game.     Expect them to be be a bit soft in pass defense without him.    The run defense, with the addition of Donnie Edwards seems to be much stronger without him, so I see less of a drop there but there will still be some affect.

The Cahrgers ill be better overall, but he does not know the system yet. Harriosn hurts too. Plus the fact that they have a very tough schedule this year with high powered offenses.
