Houston Texans - Week Eleven Analysis

The Houston Texans face the hapless Buffalo Bills this week, who have been really struggling with Drew Bledsoe's ineffectiveness. Luckily, their defense has been rock solid, ranking very high in both rush and pass D. Their defense hasn't been able to compensate for Bledsoe's turnovers, however, which has been their downfall since the beginning of the season. This should be a very low scoring game, which is disheartening for fantasy owners that have invested heavily in these two teams. QB David Carr returned to action last week, but was held in check by an overachieving Bengal secondary. Carr faces one of the best pass defenses in the NFL this week, and I expect that he will have a subpar performance as the Texans try to control the clock with the rushing attack. Don't start Mr. Carr this week, even in a desperate scenario. David Carr - 140 yards passing, 1 TD, 1 INT; 10 yards rushing, 0 TDs RB If the Bills have a chink in their defensive chain, it is their rush D. Domanick Davis returned strong last week against the Bengals, and I would expect to see more pound-it-out football against the Bills. Davis is quickly becoming a must-start in most 10 and 12 team leagues. Stacey Mack may miss some time this week (he had an MRI this week), so that only improves Davis's value. Domanick Davis - 120 yards rushing, 1 TD; 20 yards receiving, 0 TDs Stacey Mack and Tony Hollings - neglible stats. WR The Texans' WR's will struggle this week against a very tough Bills secondary. Andre Johnson is in a unique funk, and unfortunately I don't expect him to break out of it this week. Bradford may see another deep ball come his way this week as the Texans try to loosen up the rush defense with some deep play action routes. Andre Johnson - 3 catches, 40 yards, 0 TDs Jabar Gaffney - 2 catches, 10 yards, 0 TDs Corey Bradford - 1 catch, 50 yards, 1 TD Billy Miller - 3 catches, 20 yards, 0 TDs Overall, I expect a relatively boring game, chock full of turnovers and ineffective drives. The Texans will probably lose this week, however, as the Bills are desperate for a win and arguably have the better talent on their team. Bills 20, Houston 14
