Not really. Sometimes it is good to show some cards, especially if you have an ace showing while still hiding your pocket cards. Like I said, before the Gandy trade, there was a league-wide perception that the Saints were VERY interested in moving out of the #2 slot because neither D'Brick nor Mario Williams (the only logical picks at that point) were big-time needs for the team. So teams, knowing that the Saints were desperate to move, would low-ball them with their offers. Now, with the Saints appearing content to stay at #2 because D'Brick fills a need for them, teams may have to offer more to acquire that #2 selection than they would have a week ago. Remember last year, the Niners did not want any parts of the #1 overall selection, but the rest of the league knew that and didn't offer them anything enticing enough to move out of that spot. Things will be different this year because there is a big drop-off in talent once you get outside the top 10. (Then there is a lot of value from the second through the fourth or even fifth rounds.)

Vis-ŕ-vis the discussion that went down on the "NFL 'issues'" thread on "the Sidelines", I must say, to REemphasize the overall picture with respect to Bush, that, as per what I just heard on ESPN, his telling his agent to get a deal done so that a hold-out can be avoided at all costs is totally stand-out. He evidently sees the "bigger picture" of the situation of the place in which he is playing and getting in good graces in general.

Remember this guy with the Redskins? At one time, he was lookin' to be somethin' special... Well,... according to "The REAL Feed" he's getting another chance,... a fresh start in a city that's all about second chances... Veteran WR Thompson signs one-year deal with Saints ESPN: NFL (23.05.2006 22:41) Free agent wide receiver Derrius Thompson, a six-year veteran who did not play in the league in 2005, has signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints. Where'd this guy go, right? Well,... here he is...
