Wow, what a comeback! I'm soooo glad I stayed up to watch it! This game was OVER. I'm still in shock. As far as the play goes, I think the TB defense should be credited with a forced fumble and a TD (and it's not just because I have Tampa in both the GBRFL2 and CBFL ). In my mind, the second that ball is intercepted by INDY, the TB offense becomes the TB defense. Quote:| Just to let you know, in the GBRFL, it is a nothing (for Keenan McCardell or Tampa Bay D/ST owners). |
| I understand the reasoning behind this rule, I just don't agree with it. A play like this doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen and I don't see how it can be ignored, especially if INDY is getting credit for the INT. The play didn't stop there and neither should TB's chances to score (fantasy wise). They came up with a huge play and IMO the players/squads involved should get credit for it one way or another. I'm sure this issue has been addressed and voted on in the past, but I demand a recount!

This is not really a topic to be agreed or disagreed upon, actually. The thing about this, Jamie, is that it is about what "unit" is on the field. At that point in time, though Tampa's offensive "unit" was now on defense, it wasn't a play made by Tampa's defensive "unit". Again, though, I understand the spirit of whence you are coming. It would be nice to include all the little, unusual things,... to account for "everything" that happens on the field. Ultimately, that play still counts as a score against Indianapolis's defense, so it's not just a "total" nothing as I stated above. But, in consideration of the administrative side of things, you have to draw the line somewhere so as to avoid an administrative nightmare for the commissioners/computer programmers of your league. Defining/Ordering things in terms of "units" definitely makes sense and makes it reasonable for all parties involved, the game players and the game makers.

In the QFL, Doss gets the INT then loses points for the fumble, McCardell gets a fumble recovery and the way we do fumbles is then credit for a rushing TD point wise. However, he does not get credit for rushing yards. Just for the TD points. |
| From how I gather the QFL system, the way Noey explains it is EXACTLY the way I would expect it to be scored. It's just logical! Administrative headaches notwithstanding, I feel the same way about my explanation above regarding leagues in which team defenses are used.
