What does everbody think of playing individual Offensive Lineman in fantasy football? I mean, football, the game we are trying to emulate is about running, catching, throwing, tackling & BLOCKING. (no I haven't forgot kicking!! TEE HEE). You hear the announcers say it all the time. If you can't tackle or block, your not a very good team. Yet we as FF owners have ignored that "side" of FF or rather, only take it as a 2ndary affect of the offensive players you draft (or defensive players - gotta get them in there!). Why not make it a priority in leagues? Yes, one hurdle to overcome seems to be the "stat" category as there aren't any football statitics that directly reflect the "blocking" of NFL teams much less that of individual players. So what! Things aren't Mrs. Perfect Polly Poo Poo Picker Pineapple Pumpers for this totally under appreciated yet ever so important football accomplishment. Does that mean that we as FF owners, who by the way, are already engaging in a creative way of playing/coaching football w/out REALLY playing football/coaching, can NOT come up w/ a way to reflect the blocking stat of an offensive line/tight end, fullback or even those WRs that are the reason a RB gains 45 yards on a play instead of 15? To admit we can't showcase the OLINE in fantasy football is pert ner (yee haw) saying that we are a bunch of people playing the MOST creative and popular game in our nation yet, we are NOT even worthy of such an innovative game BECAUSE we can't even come up w/ a way to imitate one of the MOST important stats and talents in the NFL game itself. Are we worthy of this game? Things of topics, NFL team position OLINES? Or individual OLINE men? Stats that could be used : Total Team Offensive points. Total team Offensive Yards gained. Sacks allowed. Sacks allowed per passing attempts. TFLs (tackles for a loss). 3rd & 4th down conversions/attempts. Yards per rush average. TOP (time of possesion). There are ALL KINDS of stats and ways to be able to showacse the offensive linemen of the NFL. Though, during my research of this, I hae found that Total points & Yards, ; sacks & TFLs are the MOST consistent stats that would reflect the best O-Linemen that are out there. But that again, also depends on your scoring system used for Blocking. Think about it. Trying to draft 5 GREAT OL men and their backups to reflect those stats would BE an accomplishment and also, much more challenging then, drafting KC's WHOLE OL ,................a one time deal/position. Drafting individual OLmen you could also get even MORE creative and give more powerful stats to the Offensive Tackles of the Line, a.k.a. the STUDs of the OLINE.

This play had just as much effect upon the game as a 40 yard reception, but for FF purposes there was absolutely no impact. Am I the only one who believes that pass interference should be included in scoring for FF? |
| I think it would be a bear to score. Plus, there's no guarantee that the player would have caught the ball had he not been interfered with, so you could be awarding false points. And, since it occurred in the endzone, should the WR also get 6 points for a TD? I think it's probably better to not count penalties.

| Not to mention that we now have to take into account the officiating crew of a game. For example, Line Judge $hyte4brains is doing the Viking game and is much more likely to call defensive holding than Side Judge DroolingMoron, so now Viking receivers are a better start? Where would one get these stats to compare crews? I think it introduces too much variability to an already maddening sea of variables we have to consider every week.
