| Too early in my opinion. He went 2.10 last season in this same league. Quote:| Culpepper ahead of Manning?! Manning plays 16 games! Culpepper missed games last year. Manning puts up comparable numbers to Culpepper in points per game AND he plays more games. |
| If Culpepper stays healthy, he is the clear #1 QB. He will throw for 4000 yards (+/-) plus he can run the ball and score that way too. Quote:| Michael Vick the number 3 QB? Yeah, maybe if he can hit the broadside of the barn and not get injured. I'd easily take a Trent Green or Hasselbeck over Vick. |
| Vick is valuable in this league because of his rushing yards/TDs. I question his ability to stay healthy and also to adjust to a new offense this season. Quote:| I also don't understand Barlow going so high. All Fred Taylor has done is put up numbers while playing all his team's games the last 2 years. And Edge...he has an injury past but when healthy, he puts up stud numbers. Barlow is too much of a question mark. |
| Barlow will get the TDs that Fred has NO shot at getting. Remember that the Jags drafted a vulture in Greg Jones this year. Plus Fred stayed healthy all last year which means the odds against another healthy season are against him. Edge should be a stud this season. Quote:| Holt before Harrison?! Let's see, the most consistent fantasy football WR (along with Moss, mind you) or a guy who put up one huge year...hmmmmmmm... |
| I owned (and rode) Torry Holt in one of my leagues last year, but I'd still go Marvin before Torry just because you know Marvin will get his. Quote:| That's all I got for now. I'm sure I'll be more critical as it goes along. But then again, I am a critic more often than not. |
| Keep it coming! (As long as it isn't directed at me... )... Heh, just kidding, I love criticism.

Sorry to be so long in answering, guys. This is the first time I got to this thread. Just too busy. I work too hard for my filthy lucre. As for the LT2/Deuce thing, my rankings went LT2, Priest & Deuce or Deuce then Priest. The reason I did NOT take LT2 when I could (which I planned to do if I could when setting up this year) was the SD melt down I've been hearing about from my West Coast friends. Worse than anything I read on the web. (They're looking for another thing like last year's Raiders - break my heart.) I was concerned he'd be boom or bust. This was the overall second pick. This league has no trades or waiver wire, live or die by what you start with. Priest was gone, no big deal. It was LT2 or Deuce. You can't always go by the last year's performance in the 21st century NFL. You go with what you project for this year. (I look for a break-out year for Deuce, call me crazy, time will tell, razz me later if you're right, I will buy you a drink and crown you King, with a great big smile on my face. ) It could all be the usual AFC West smoke & mirrors (a nod to Steg). They love that stuff out there. This was my call and I'm stickin' to it. As for a QB so early, had no intention of doing that until the top tier guys started disappearing. I wanted one, if I could get one. There are a lot of WR's out there, and every year WR's below the elite just pop right up and surprise, they are fragile sometimes, and you all know this already. The elite QBs above McNabb were gone, T.O. is in the house, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of rushing yards out of McNabb. (Hope I got all the scoring system right!) Any questions? Fire away! P.S. I keep what I smoke for me and whoever I crown King.

A few comments. 1. Consistency is not a virtue in this league. You want players that absolutely explode and when they are off are way off. The best ball format makes it so that the whole idea of consistency is turned on its head. An interesting sidebar to this is that, surprisingly, Culpepper is an extremely consistent QB while Manning is erratic. 2. I took Vick because I think this will be his year. He is still young enough to get huge rushing stats, but starting to get wise enough to be a better QB. His WR corps is much better than before. Basically I wanted to be a Vick owner and experience the excitement on an elevated level when I watched him play. Not every pick I make is based solely on winning/losing. I want guys I like to watch play and I root for. 3. No real reaches so far, but the QBs are really close to being reaches (including my pick of Vick). 4. According to Average Draft Position, Stephen Davis and Marshall Faulk are the best values so far. 5. Although Callie is one of the 'guys' around here, and certainly knows her football as well as any guy, she is never a 'him'.

Overall, I don't think it has been as bad as sd, observing from the outside, thinks. THAT HAVING BEEN SAID, I feel obliged to say that, in general, Stephen Davis's falling to the end of the third round, especially behind the likes of rookie RB's Kevin and Julius Jones, is pretty preposterous and unjustifiable.
