Here's my thinking with the centers... in the years where there is just one dominant guy (Jeff Faine a few years ago, for example) at the position, he becomes a hotter commodity. This year there are three studs (Mangold, Degory, Eslinger) and a lot of solid players behind him. So don't be surprised if teams hold off on selecting a center in the first, knowing that even if their guy goes early, there will be a couple others on the same level that wil be available in the second (or even early third).

| Thanks for being observant! Anyway, I was very high on White before (higher than most), but I honestly thought he would stay in school for his senior year. The fact that he came out indicates that he probably got a very high draft grade from the NFL Advisory Committee. Next year he'd be the primary back at USC and would likely put up 1500-2000 yards and 25+ TDs. Those types of numbers would guarantee him a top 10 selection, likely top 3. So I'm sure teams have him rated very highly this year. I would have to think long and hard about taking Reggie Bush before him. But that's my personal bias towards the big, workhorse back. Also, he was so low last time because I didn't see any teams taking a back in the middle of the first round. After the last mock, junkyardjake prompted me to go back and re-evaluate my opinions of DeAngelo Williams and Laurence Maroney. I realized I was being a bit harsh on Williams because of a personal bias that wasn't necessarily shared by the NFL scouts. So he appears in this mock ahead of Maroney. Maroney slipped into the second round because the only team I thought might take a RB in the latter stages of the first round was Pittsburgh, but the big workhorse back they'd want is gone now, so I have them picking a different position than RB. That's the beauty of the draft. One player being picked early can cause such a big ripple effect with the rest of the selections.

| Understand & respect the bias, in fact, I had the same view against Warrick Dunn as compared to T.J. Duckett a couple of years back. But, you have to give a pass to Reggie on this. He is phenominal. Like NO other before him. He is of his own species of athlete the NFL has never seen before. - the guy can FLY. He can run. Catch - in slot, as wideout,..............he has blocked,.....did i say he can fly? Did I say he can PUNT? Hes part Barry Sanders. Part LT2. Part Gayle Sayers. and 90% HIS OWN IDENTITY - His OWN UNIVERSE. HIS OWN BLEND OF POWERS. In future drafts, we'll BEE comparing what is merely a small portion of one of his talents as the "whole" of another player-rookie. And at a poor-man's level. He'll BEE THAT good. That Great. That Elite. He'll make more of a difference than LenDale White.
