Furthermore... (maybe I'm taking this more seriously than I should, but screw it, I'm pissed about the Eagles loss)... It bothers me that McNabb is getting jeered for puking during the last Eagles drive. I'm not just talking about you WeinkeMaster. Apparently it is happening all over the country. Did anyone actually watch the game or did you just see the high(low)lights on ESPN??? McNabb played his ass off in that game. The Eagles were on the field for about the last 6 minutes of the game with almost no breaks. The Heat Index at game time was nearly 100 degrees. McNabb ran for 100 yards in the game. He was dealing with receivers who couldn't get any separation from the defenders until the play broke down and then they couldn't catch the ball despite the passes hitting them right in the hands. Nearly every play he had to scramble out of the pocket because he had no receivers open or the blocking broke down. The guy had to be almost completely dehydrated, especially after puking. He was dead-tired because he seemed to be the only player (on either team) at the end giving 100%. And he still was able to drive the Eagles down the field and put passes where they needed to be and run when he had to. I challenge anyone to name a QB who has done more with less of a supporting cast. Name a QB who has to carry his team week in and week out, and does it as effectively as McNabb has. Name a QB who gives 100% on every play. Name a QB who is a better team-player and role model. If this criticism of McNabb is justified, then I'll just apologize and shut up. But if it is not, then you critics can just kiss my .

I am with you, Philly, ALL THE WAY. Not only was McNabb's play, while puking his guts out , brave and heroic , but I actually thought it was good strategy. Sorry to break the news, but anybody who sees McNabb's play on Sunday any other way is just relating to life on a "low" level?

Man, that reaction is almost as bad as Stegeman's was to the Bronco's ugly loss last week. The bottom line for McNabb (and I hate saying this, as a Giants fan) is that he was completely unearthly in his play. He was determined to win the game by himself., and that is admirable. Unfortunately it is also the downfall of many players who actually believe they can win it, themselves, no matter what. In the last five minutes of that game, he wasn't as effective as he was during the rest of the game, mostly due to his utter and complete de-hydration. I did watch the game (I never pass up an opportunity to see the Eagles lose) and you almost got the sense that he was disoriented on the field. You could see it in his eyes and in his throws. Blowing chunks just put an exclamtion point on the matter. He should have taken himself out, or someone should have taken him out, to allow the team, the best chance to win. Probably not a realistic move considering the caliber of QB that he is but if a QB gets a cuncussion, he gets pulled out. He was working under a similar handicap. Just my opinion.

The Endless Lament of the Giant Fan

I should have known. The sad, pathetic lament of the Giant fan. The only people who seem to rip McNabb are Giants fans. My best friend is a Giants fan so I've gone around and around with him on this. First off, in the last six minutes of the game, McNabb was MORE effective than he was the rest of the game. Sure, part of that was the fact that the Jag defense was spent. But McNabb moved the team down the field and led the team to 2 TDs. If Reid had managed the game a little better, it is not inconceivable that the Eagles could have pulled off the comeback. The team would NOT have had a better chance to win with Koy Detmer at the helm. As long as McNabb is breathing (or puking), he is more effective than Detmer ever could be. The fact that McNabb believes he can carry the team single-handedly is not the downfall of McNabb. It is based on the simple fact that the Eagles have not surrounded McNabb with many (any?) weapons. McNabb HAS to be able to carry the team on his back every week, and he does it. McNabb carried the team to the cusp of the Super Bowl last year.
