OK, guys. No one seems to know. So assuming someone even WANTS the job, who do you pick?
My favorite, John Madden steals Al's pacemaker, parks the bus and leads the team to former glory by Raid-ering the prison leagues and asking Tagliabue how his granddaughter's legs looked when she was coming out of ballet class last week. It would be a shame if something happened to her legs.....
Got one?

Yea, saw it at lunch at the office, Wilde-Man! Cannot seem to go on the forum from there. (A little help, guys?)
When Sean Payton was the apparent pick, the Raider Nation was NOT happy. There was a huge collective sigh of relief when things did not work out and Sean went home.
I haven't heard the collective response to Turner, but I personally like the possibilities. Think Ricky Williams and Norv's former O's in general. We all thought Davis was waiting for the DC or OC from New England. All in all, apparently Norv thinks he can work with Al. Madden had the formula. Don't just agree with Davis. He likes to argue. We'll see. And we'll see what he does with some nice draft picks.

I was standing next to Norv Turner a couple years ago in a Washington DC hotel. (This was a few months after he was fired as the Skins head coach.) I knew I recognized him, but for the life of me I could not place him. I finally decided he must be on the PGA tour or something. Then a couple days later it hit me - he was Norv Turner!
Anyway... It will be interesting to see how he does as coach in Oakland. I get the feeling that Norv can be a very good coordinator, but head coach is a step beyond his level of competence.
I have to disagree. Norv Turner is one of the smartest people in the game. He does not have the temperment of some other coaches, say a John Gruden or a Dick Vermeil, but the man is very intelligent. He knows the passing game, and is a firm believer in the power running game, which the Raiders have excelled in in recent years. He can run the West Coast offense, but is also proficient is opening up the passing game vertically. I have read in the local papers that Al Davis grilled him for several hours and they drew hundreds of plays on the chalkboard. Al was very impressed with how Turner was able to disect everything Al threw at him. He has his work cut out for him with an aging team coming off a 4-12 season, andof course dealing with his owner. But I wish him all the luck in the world. I hope he does well...
