Fellas, this gem was laying on "The REAL Feed" and needed to be shared:

http://www.startribune.com/stories/503/4030114.html.

I don't completely agree with the guy's "tiers".  For one, he seems to like Kordell Stewart A LOT. But, it's an intriguing read, nonetheless, and may inspire some interesting discussion.

ENJOY!

Definitely in interesting read, although I can't say I gleaned much from it because of his biases.

Fellas, another nice fantasy read from "The REAL Feed" that needed sharing:

Fantasy football: Go for tight ends and wide outs early this year
StarTribune: Sports (21.08.2003 14:56)
As my father used to say, grossness is often next to greatness. Such is the case at the wide receiver and tight end positions, where a few gems can be found among those seemingly endless legions of stiffs.

Here are a couple quick, if not great, reads out of The Washington Times available to you all on "the Gridiron Newsstand":

Regards Warner Brothers Fantasy Football Preview '03 DVD -
http://www.washtimes.com/sports/20030824-124936-8368r.htm;

Regards Running Backs from a Fantasy Perspective -
http://www.washtimes.com/sports/20030824-124930-2332r.htm.

They're worth the cumulative 5 to 8 minutes it takes to read them.

These two FF goodies are off "The REAL Feed", one of them was actually indirectly gotten by way of a "blog" report/post, which is kind of neat:

Fantasy football: Welcome to life in an auction league
StarTribune: Sports (28.08.2003 10:58)
It's here. For the first time in our league's nine-year history, we're going with an auction instead of a draft. Twelve teams, $100 cap per club, and no idea what's going to happen.

10 reasons why life is better with Fantasy Football.     I've been a fan of the NFL for decades, but fantasy football has racheted my interest in the game 1000%. I probably would still have no idea who Freddie Jones was if I hadn't spent the 2001 season cursing his lack of production. Graham Hays really captures how fantasy sports makes old fans learn new tricks.

This is classic... Quote:
When you call your opponent a "whining ball of puss" because he thinks it's unfair that you traded Jon Kitna for Deuce McAllister, what you're really saying is, "thanks for being part of my life, buddy." And you'll need those new friends when you figure out sometime in January that your wife and kids have been living with your in-laws in Albany since Thanksgiving.

Gotta' love gettin' FF-specific stuff on "The REAL Feed"!  Very cool... 8) and not the usual!  Best FF news feed on the net, in my humble, "objective" opinion!  Anyway, STRAIGHT off "The REAL Feed", for whatever it's worth, here are some last-minute cheatsheets from About.com; interesting to peruse in the least:

Yeah.  Thats the list you bring to the draft and let your "buddies" borrow..."You got Gonzo at the end of round 2.  Wowwwwww.  And Shockey in the third?!  Good job, dude, you have the TE position just about wrapped up!"

These were brought to you STRAIGHT from "The REAL Feed".  The first piece is specifically about fantasy drafts, their predictability/unpredictability, and how to do well (just a little late in the going for this topic); the other isn't fantasy-specific, but it gives predictions on how the teams will do this year:

Here's another neat one brought to you directly via "The REAL Feed"...

The guy's blowing his own horn a bit (not that there is anybody here that does that ) and he's a bit pretentious, to the point of rude, at times, but it's still a fun read.

Here's a REAL GOODIE straight off "The REAL Feed"...

Fantasy football: The art of the trade
StarTribune: Sports (02.10.2003 08:54)
One of the most exciting - and excruciating - things in fantasy football is the art of the trade. There has been no better high in my fantasy life than trading for Shaun Alexander the week he scored five touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings. Conversely, there has been no lower moment than getting suckered into trading half my team - literally - away one season during the mid-1990s for Steve Young, who promptly went down that week with a concussion and missed most of the season.

Here is the link to the whole piece:
http://www.startribune.com/stories/503/4131732.html.

Nice. light read for a Wednesday afternoon straight from "The REAL Feed".  It's a mailbag type of piece that disusses the fantasy-league issue of "shady one-week trades" as well as what the future holds for the Minnesota backs, Williams, Smith and Bennett:

One week trades should NEVER be allowed.

If they trade and try to trade back make evryone in the trade free agents.  Or force them to hold onto them for 2 weeks.

One league I am in has a two week hold rule for free agents that way it is easier to mange and you don't get the I picked up so and so 3 weeks ago.........when in relity they dropped them.

Agreed, Noey!  Cheating in fantasy football (well, I think, in anything in life... I'm not an advocate of "if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'," but that's another subject...) in any way is queer!

...

Anyway, to the subject at hand, the following, straight from the top of "The REAL Feed", is a very nice article about ALL the RBBC's there are anymore.  Definitely worth a look-see:

http://www.startribune.com/stories/503/4170823.html.

And, of course, don't forget about our very own "Fantasy Articles" section, which is full of all kinds of goodies, including Jeff West's latest edition of "Directions"!  ENJOY!

"The REAL Feed" provides more FF treats, on Halloween no less...

This piece is a first-half (of the season) overview and a second-half preview.  It makes some good cases.  BUT, I don't agree with his second-half bust, at least not after T.O.'s team defeats the Rams this week at home with Rattay under center :

http://www.startribune.com/stories/503/4181859.html.

Now, this piece, I don't know what to make of.  It's a tongue-and-cheek, I think, defense of fantasy football,... I think. I suppose it is an interesting read in light of my (latest) piece (from October 3rd), "The State and Face of Fantasy Football", available via our "Fantasy Articles" section.  I think he's being sarcastic... sometimes, I guess. It's worth a look-see anyway:
