In the same week it traded for Seneca Wallace, Cleveland Browns reached agreement on an two-year deal with quarterback Jake Delhomme, according to an NFL source.
 
The net result here may very well end up being:  now - Delhomme and Wallace; then - Quinn and Anderson.  Is it me or is that not all that different, perhaps even a step in the wrong direction?

This report is more curious not so much as regards the guy who is injured as the guy who will presumably replace him this week (misspelling aside).  From "The REAL Feed":

He's  back again?  Hasn't he proved he can't play in the league anymore?  Mangini's reason is because he knows the Panthers better than Seneca Wallace......oh vey!

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended two games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Did the Browns know about this before the Davone Bess trade?
 
I am not one to make excuses in this type of situation, mind you, but the drug was codeine that was prescribed for a bout with strep throat.  That sounds like the right prescription.  We have two bottles of cough syrup that was prescribed for my wife and me for past colds in our house right now with codeine in it.  It is surely NOT performance-enhancing!  Codeine is a banned substance in the NFL!?!?  I mean addiction to it is no good, for sure, but a ban on it!?!? ...
