Here is another one of our fun participatory threads here "between the 20's".  It is called "between the 20's Fantasy MVP's of the Week".  Here, you are to list your key player(s) for the week, the one or ones that were key to your victory(ies).  I really think we can have some fun with this! You can expect this to be up by Wednesday from here on out!  HAVE FUN, fellas!!!

There is also a complementary weekly thread to this one for the opposite circumstance:  "between the 20's Weekly Bitchin'"!!!  Make sure to check it out!!!

Before this solid three-game winning streak for the Stegeman franchise in the GBRFL comes to a SCREECHING halt, I want to divvy out some Week 12 and 13 game balls...

Just-acquired QB Ben Roethlisberger
Free-agent acquisition old-man QB Kurt Warner

Dark-horse upstart RB Ryan Grant
RB Ron Dayne who is finally getting his chance
The far superior tailback in Tennessee RB Chris Brown
RB Cedric Benson who was just coming on

Tight-end... wide receiver... TE Kellen Winslow Jr.
Hard-hatter WR Hines Ward
Another wide receiver-like TE Jason Witten
And, another super-duper TE Dallas Clark
Youngin WR Anthony Gonzalez
And, his namesake, yet another TE Tony Gonzalez

Ageless wonder, UH's very own PK Jason Elam

The big unit, D/ST Jacksonville Jaguars

Thumbs up, ALL!!!

Before doing the final wrap-up for the '07-'08 season here on "the Gridiron with the Pro Bowl now over, I want to make this post, which I've been wanting to for some time, but just couldn't come up for air/didn't have the energy coming down the stretch to.  Doing this will be cathartic for me insofar as, vis-a-vis what has been a rough season for me here on "the Gridiron" (and on the gridiron as well for that matter), this kind of post will get me back to what this was originally all about,... sharing my enthusiasm for this awesome hobby I so love with others who share that enthusiasm.

...

As it turned out, things did NOT come to a screeching halt for "Who Let The Dogs Out" after Week 13.  In fact, my guys went 6 - 1 Weeks 14 through 17.  That's 9 - 1 to finish out the season from Week 12 through 17.  I want to now divvy out those games balls for Weeks 14, 15, 16 and 17 to a team that, alas, looks to be turning the corner heading into '08 after what I considered to be a necessary dismantling following a GBRFL Championship run in '04.  I thought it would take three years for me to be competitive again, but, with the Michael Vick fiasco happening WELL before the season even kicked off, I was resigning myself to a bleak future for (a couple more) years to come.  That has turned out not to be the case given a handful of savvy and lucky moves.  My end-of-season roster last year and this year are worlds apart.

But, back to that great finish that hopefully portends an auspicious future...  Without further ado, game balls go out as follows:

QB Ben Roethlisberger
QB Kurt Warner
RB Ryan Grant
PK Jason Elam
RC Jason Witten
D/ST Jacksonville Jaguars
RC Hines Ward
RC Kellen Winslow
RB Dominic Rhodes
RC Anthony Gonzalez
RB Ron Dayne
RB Chris Brown
RC Tony Gonzalez
RC Ted Ginn
HC Gary Kubiak
D/ST Cleveland Browns (no longer with team)

This 4 - 15 team was BURIED in last place at one time.  We finished 13 - 16 and in the middle of the pack.  A job well "done"... looking to '08!
