| In the 50 or so games I watched live in the Astrodome, Ray was the only punter I saw hit a speaker that was hanging from the ceiling gondola!!...amazing, he should be in there! I believe he had some 8 second hang times in his heyday! The center gondola had speaker boxes that hung about 40 feet or so below it. My dad took me to several games, especially to see his beloved Raiders or Bears play. My pop and I were talking about how close Ray was getting to hitting that thing, when a guy behind us said there was no way anyone could ever do it. My pop told him that Ray could do it. As the game went by, late in the 4th, the Raiders found themselves punting again. BOOM!!! Ray launched his punt and my dad said, "Holy shit, he's gonna nail that thing"! And he did! I just looked back at the man and said "don't doubt my pop mister." It was the only time I ever heard him cuss in my life!! Great memory!

LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Dick LeBeau said he tried not to think too much about what he called "a lifelong dream." So much time had passed, it might have seemed like he would never make it. 2010... What class... What a class... What class acts! That's for the group as a whole... BUT, what about Emmitt Smith? I knew this guy was a good guy, but I didn't know he was this good of a guy! Talk about wipin' out a box of Kleenex! And, I'm really just talking about his tribute to Darryl "Moose" Johnston! WOW! What humility! What genuine emotion! To go on too much about it in my usual verbose way, I think, would be to diminish it. All I can say is that it was one of the great speeches I've ever heard, and, of all of Emmitt's achievements, that tribute to Johnston may have been his greatest! Thanks, Emmitt! Thanks, Class of 2010... for your class!
