Here on "the Gridiron" we like to stick to football and mainly from the perspective of fantasy football. However, we also want to, after coming together over our common passion, get to know one another better and develop somewhat of a familial atmosphere. Given that philosophy, there is no "free-for-all" board on "the Gridiron". We do provide "the Bleachers" sticky thread (on "the Sidelines") and "the Gridiron Chatroom" where our members are welcome to discuss anything they want. What we also do on "the Sidelines" is conduct occasional "Get To Know Your Gridironers (G.T.K.Y.G.)" topical threads. These afford our members a great opportunity to better get to know one another outside of football and by way of focused discussions on fun topics and themes. They can easily be located by the G.T.K.Y.G.-designated message icon: . Here are some that have been going on or are about to start up: G.T.K.Y.G. - Topic: Where ya from? http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1059537803; G.T.K.Y.G. - Topic: Movies http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1056353524; G.T.K.Y.G. - Topic: Book Club http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1037240341; G.T.K.Y.G. - Topic: Music http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1082936085. G.T.K.Y.G. - Topic: Politics http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1088054297. G.T.K.Y.G. - Topic: Photo Album http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1185832268. G.T.K.Y.G. - Topic: Philosophy Corner http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1199260483. A note of utmost importance, given the aforementioned philosophy behind it all, with regards to threads like the ones about books, movies and music, the point is FOR US TO GET TO KNOW YOU, THE PERSON, BY WAY OF THE TOPIC, NOT FOR US TO GET TO KNOW THE TOPIC, FOR EXAMPLE "MOVIES", FROM YOU. The (main) point (at least) is to facilitate substantive PERSONAL discussion, not, as a group, to determine ("objective") top-10 lists, so to speak. One other related note, we also have a "Happy Birthdays to our fellow Gridironers" thread. It is located at: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=58;a ction=display;num=1043287101.

Alas, a G.T.K.Y.G. Philosophy thread, the "Philosophy Corner"! Just what I know the overwhelming majority of you all wanted... (Mr. T-Rave,... let's have at it, brother... ... ... )
